Wearing Vibram 5 fingers at the world

Hi all, I did a search and didn't find any discussions here about them. Some may not have heard about them before. you can check them out by googling vibram five fingers, not sure if I can post websites or not.

Anyways I got my first pair about a month ago and love them, from everyday use to working out in. I plan on wearing them when we go in Oct.

Just wondering if anyone else has worn them there, I have the KSO's and the Bikila's.

Yeah I doubt the price will drop. Vibram is a small company and has been having a hard time keeping up with demand. They are sold out in most places. If you order online just be sure to follow the sizing guide on their website. It was dead on for me, but I do know there are variables in peoples feet.

Not sure if I can add this but there is a forum dedicated to these shoes, its called birthdayshoes.com . It also lists all authorized retailers also. Like I said before just beware of fakes. Also if you guys are flip flop people look at the classics, by vibram, they are the most open on the foot to keep you cool and the thinnest sole for the minimalist feel.

cuz dey sure iz uglies......

I think they look a heck of a lot better than Crocs. I'm thinking of getting some of the KSO's.

A least they make you look like you have feet and not some kind of blocks on your feet.

I'll call them my "dress" feet!

They are ugly!!! Totally! But, I can wear them and not have blisters! They really are nice to wear.

The price won't go down anytime soon. The stores can't keep them in stock!

You have to try the actual pair of shoes on FOR SURE! There are various styles, and colors. I have noticed that when trying on the pairs of "shoes" that I wore different sizes depending on style and yes even color.

They do feel differently than finger socks.

I plan on taking mine to WDW in September also.

Wow! I've never heard or seen these before, but they look very interesting. I have severe foot pain, to the point that only Crocs help alleviate the pain---I only wear Crocs now (thank goodness they started coming out with "cute" styles!). I could, however, walk around barefoot for hours and not feel an ounce of pain---put a pair of shoes on and let the pain begin. These look like they'd allow me to walk around "barefoot" and not have any pain! I just found a location about a half hour from me---I may have to go try on a pair. The price isn't too bad when you consider a good pair of sneakers will run you the same amount.
Thanks for the heads up on these. I'd be interested to hear anyone who does wear them in the park. My main concern would be that in such a crowded place my toes would get stepped on---is that a problem? Or are they more protected then they look?

i just learned about these from this thread and I'm in love with the idea! I am a stickler for wearing flip flops in the park, and suffer through the pain I feel by the end of the week. I am concerned about how creppily ugly they are though! lol I hope they strt catching on so that I don't look absurd if I wear them! I am intestered to find a location and try them on. They aren't badly priced if you consider what most name brand sneakers go for....

I guess if your an intravert and dont ever want anyone asking you about these shoes, then maybe they will not be for you. However I had mine for some time now a month and a half or so and wear them everywhere, and honestly 2 people have asked me about them so far. I am sure some people have said something behind my back, but that doesnt bother me.

They do help with some feet issues, as we all know our bodies where designed to be barefoot, and these do that with the protection from sharp objects, rocks, grime, etc.

Honestly if you have the chance to try some on do so, you will probably walk out with a pair they are that comfortable. It only takes a while to learn how to put on and to get use to the feeling of something between your toes.

I have major feet and nerve problems and all I wear are crocs....I have to go as far as having indoor and outdoor shoes as we dont wear shoes in the house on the carpets. I cant go barefoot any more :( and just looking at these make my feet hurt. But hey more power to those that like them.

Just got a pair and I love them. Can't wait to try them out at the parks.

I was worried about the whole toe thing, but within an hour I didn't even notice it. They really do feel like you are walking barefoot.

I have alot of feet problems and though they are ugly as home made sin I might have to check these out! I've gotten alot of shoe advice from here, someone on here had suggested Sanuk flip flops which I tried when I went to disneyland and though they are very comfortable I walk very hard, I guess you would say, and they flatten out after a while. I live in my lamb's wool crocs during the winter so yes I have pretty much tried them all!

The classic. I tried the type with the strap across the front, but I didn't like the Velcro around the heel. Would have like to have the mary jane style but they don't carry it here.

My husband did end up with the strap style.

I would agree.....they are not the most attractive thing, but I must say comfort rules with these. Being a woman and very picky shoe fiend, I ended up getting the turquoise pair. The look started to grow on me the more I wear them.

It's kind of funny going from wearing 3 inch heels all week at work, then switching to them on the weekends.

my wife just joined the club with me. She got her first pair of Sprints last night. She already loves them ( she said it will take some getting use to) but nothing major and she loves them. So this coming OCt we will have at least 3 pairs with us at the world, unless I buy more...
