April 17th, Please come Faster Pre-Trip Report
Hey everyone! This is my first pre-trip report! We still have 58 days before we leave the snowy Massachusetts but hopefully, writing this up will make time go a little bit faster. so lets start with some background info...
So our last trip to the world was in April 2008 and at the end of that trip as we were leaving the world I was begging my mom that we could come back for my graduation in 2010. After me continuously asking her she agreed not only for all of us to go back in 2010, but I could also bring a friend with me!
This was back in 2008, 2009 had a few surprises up its sleeve for my family. The first thing was My dog in January 2009 had puppies, all boys. this doesn't seem like a HUGE problem but my family being animal lovers, we couldn't part from them. So we had to adapt to 7 dogs living in our house Which meant we needed at least 2 bags of dog food a week, shots, the whole 9 yards. The second big thing happened in the fall. We had a scare with my dad when we past out and stopped breathing. To this day, we still don't know why that happened(even though he's doing better now). But that really scared us and we weren't sure if we were going to be able to make the drive down. We realized that on this trip, we were going to have 4 drivers, including my dad. So with my dad doing better we decided we would all take 2 hour shirts driving and make lots of rest stops.
Even though we had that figured out, we had to deal with the cost of everything. to put all the dogs in kennels for the week would cost around $900 total. we decided to break up the dogs. 2 are going to my neighbors house, 2 are going to my grandmas, and the last 3 will go to the kennel. With that all set, we called my aunt up(who works for Disney) to book us a room. We are able to get 2 connecting rooms for about $900 with her discount. Not bad if you ask me
We then went online to see if we could swing a few ADRs. we were able to book two of them and stay on budget!
So with all that our of the way, lets introduce the players!
The parental- Both didn't go to Disney until I was 6 months old. My mom LOVES the whole Disney feel and isn't really a ride person. My dad is the opposite he loves rides. Both are looking forward to this much needed vacation.
Myself, Emily, 18- my 11th trip to the world and very excited! Favorite ride is Tower of Terror(I always convince my sister to ride with me). My goal for this trip is to get picked to be in the Indiana Jones show.
My Friend, Sarah, 18- A Newbee to the World! I think she wins for the most excited! she wanted to have a meal with the characters so we made sure we booked one. Although she has never been, she is a big Disney fan. She also loves to sing(I have a feeling we will have an American Idol experience)
Sister, Sam, 13- Our biggest ride person! she rode RRC when she was just 6 years old! She can't wait to try TSMM. she's not your typically princess girl, she would rather meet pirates or villains then meet Cinderella. Her first trip to the world was when she was 3.
Sister, Haley, 10-Our youngest member. Her first trip was when she was 5. Her favorite memory was being picked to get the rose from the Beauty and the Beast show, making her a Huge Belle fan. She wants to try more rides this year, on her list is Test Track, Splash, BTMR, and Kali River Rapids. She is a huge Princess fan and enjoys eating Mickey Mouse Ice cream:slurp:
Here's a rough look at how our trip will go.
April 16th- we leave Massachusetts for our 2 day drive to the world.
April 17th- Arrive in Florida around 4pm! we plan to spend that night with relatives.
April 18th- POP Century here we come! checking in, relaxing, exploring, Tie dye cheese cake.
April 19th- ADR at Tusker House for breakfast. Then spending the day at AK.
April 18th-DHS. getting there for opening and running to TSMM lunch ADR at Sci-Fi. Staying at the park late to see Fantasmic!
April 19th-MK. spending all day here. we go crazy in this park. we go from open to close, do rides twice, see parades and fireworks. the whole thing!
April 20th- Sleeping in! then going to the Boardwalk and getting the Kitchen Sink! Also we are planning on resort hopping, we have never been in any of the deluxe resorts.
April 21st-EPCOT saving the best for last! We never seem to be able to do everything at epcot and on the way back the the resort someone will always say something like "We forgot to see O'Canada!" so we might also go to Epcot the next morning also.
April 22nd- Possibly Epcot. hanging out at the resort and checking out.
April 23rd- Relatives house and saying goodbye. starting the longest car ride ever back home.
And there you have it! our Pre-Trip Report! not too Fancy but it works for us:wave:
