I have a few questions before going (first timer!!!) in March. I hope this isn't annoying, I know you have all prob. seen these q's a million times.....

1.) What will the weather mostly likely be like the 6th - 12th of March?
2.) Do you rec. us ordering tickets now or waiting until we get to the park?
3.) My daughter ( age 4) is most looking forward to Storytime with Belle. What has your expereince been with her story time? Do we have a good chance to get up close to see her or will DD be disapointed?
4.) Do you rec. we go to Ariel's Grotto first thing or head for the Princess tent so that the kids arent asking all day "when do we see Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty etc...."
5.) Where is the best place to see Buzz Lightyear? Is he always outside the space ranger spin or do we have to go to another park?
6.) Anything we ABSOLUTELY have to do with our kids (4 and 21 mos.) at MK before we leave? We will spend most of our time at MK.
7.) I know this is a long shot but---about how long of a wait is it per attraction and what are some suggestions on how to pass that time with two kids in a stroller in tow?

thanks in advance!

Hey.

I don't know if I can answer all of your questions but lets see if I can help with a few at least.

.) What will the weather mostly likely be like the 6th - 12th of March?
2.) Do you rec. us ordering tickets now or waiting until we get to the park? I would. It will avoid you standing in line to get the tickets themselves. You can think of it as one less line to stand in.

3.) My daughter ( age 4) is most looking forward to Storytime with Belle. What has your expereince been with her story time? Do we have a good chance to get up close to see her or will DD be disapointed? There will be a guide at the front of the park that should tell you times of events like storytime with Belle, my advice is to grab it and prepare to get their early for a good seat. I don't think your daughter would be disappointed anyway but if you get there early you will be guaranteeing a prime spot.

4.) Do you rec. we go to Ariel's Grotto first thing or head for the Princess tent so that the kids arent asking all day "when do we see Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty etc...." I think your going to get a lot of mixed ideas on this one. On one hand you get it first and done. And on the other hand its something to look forward to. But for me personally, with a four year old. I would yes.

5.) Where is the best place to see Buzz Lightyear? Is he always outside the space ranger spin or do we have to go to another park? He isn't always out, no. Again, in the guide should be a list of character meet and greets that will tell you when and where they are meeting.

6.) Anything we ABSOLUTELY have to do with our kids (4 and 21 mos.) at MK before we leave? We will spend most of our time at MK. Yes. HAVE FUN! Smile and remember this moment with the kids....Do the classic rides. Make a wish in the wishing well. And don't forget to get them a pair of ears! Lastly, remember while you are at Disney, you are a child as well. See it through their eyes.

7.) I know this is a long shot but---about how long of a wait is it per attraction and what are some suggestions on how to pass that time with two kids in a stroller in tow? Wait times can vary. If the attraction that you want is a fastpass option do it, it will save you so much time and so much wait. If it is not an option play I spy, talk to other kids/parents around you. Remember you are all in the same situation. And have patience.

Well I hope that helped a bit. Again have a fabulous vacation!

1.) What will the weather mostly likely be like the 6th - 12th of March?Never been there during that time so couldn't tell you.

2.) Do you rec. us ordering tickets now or waiting until we get to the park? Yes, always better to have them upfront.

3.) My daughter ( age 4) is most looking forward to Storytime with Belle. What has your expereince been with her story time? Do we have a good chance to get up close to see her or will DD be disapointed? Yeah, it closes up after it's full so get there about 15 minutes prior. She brings a few kids up on "stage" to help so she might get picked for that.

4.) Do you rec. we go to Ariel's Grotto first thing or head for the Princess tent so that the kids arent asking all day "when do we see Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty etc...." Go to Ariel first. When we were there in December she was there at park opening and Toon Town doesn't open until 10am anyways.

5.) Where is the best place to see Buzz Lightyear? Is he always outside the space ranger spin or do we have to go to another park? We saw him every day outside of BLSRS.

6.) Anything we ABSOLUTELY have to do with our kids (4 and 21 mos.) at MK before we leave? We will spend most of our time at MK. Just enjoy yourselves.

7.) I know this is a long shot but---about how long of a wait is it per attraction and what are some suggestions on how to pass that time with two kids in a stroller in tow? Use fastpasses always.

Actually, I think you covered it pretty well there Belle. Especially No. 6. I have seen too many parent try and get there kids from one M&G to the next and not slow down and enjoy the fact they are at WDW with their kids.

As for tickets, agreed again. Get them now. If you have Disney Store near you, you can pick them up there. One less line AND less money carried on your person (if paid for in cash) or you get them on your CC and pay them off. That way you're not "still enjoying" the expense of the trip long after it is over.

  1. Winter and early Spring weather in Florida can be difficult to predict because of cold fronts. They often affect the weather for only two or three days. Regardless, if you are from "up North", you will find the weather to be mild with few chances of rain. I suggest you search for a weather almanac online to see the trend from the past few years.
  2. I was given a voucher to redeem at a guest service window the one time that I ordered tickets ahead of my arrival. If that is the procedure for ordering tickets, then I would say that you will not save a substantial amount of time by ordering them. If you are looking for greater "in park" convenience, then perhaps it is better to order ahead. I think that it is a matter of preference.
  3. Go early, she'll love it. Disney rarely disappoints with events for younger children such as this one.
  4. Only you know your kids well enough to answer this question. My guess would be that the MK will be a big thrill, and everything will be a constant distraction beyond any list of preconceived desires.
  5. I often see Buzz at the CoP, right at the entrance.
  6. Every day is a gift from God. Enjoy every attraction equally, and enjoy watching your kids have fun. The only warning would be that the lines to attractions such as Peter Pan and Dumbo can be long. Keep them happy by being happy yourself. Your trip will create lifetime memories.
  7. There is way to answer this question with any degree of accuracy. Does the term hit-or-miss ring a bell?
My best advice is that you go with the sole intention of having a good time with your family. The rest will fall into place. Honest.

Hey, I'm going to be there the 2nd to the 10th!

I'll just repeat a lot of what's already been said...

1. You can find monthly temp. averages here... http://www.wdwmagic.com/Weather-Monthly-Averages.htm

2. Everybody has already said this... Get your tickets now - one less line to stand in and you can get in the park as soon as you arrive!

4. Go to Ariel's Grotto first b/c it usually opens with the park, whereas Toontown doesn't usually open until an hour later. If you arrive at Toontown as soon as it opens you shouldn't have much of a wait to see the princesses! Have your camera ready!

6. There's so much to do that it's hard to narrow it down. Young kids are so much fun and they really get caught up in the magic! If they're not use to rides, start them out slow. I started my kids with the Pooh ride, It's a Small World, and Peter Pan's Flight. As others have said, don't forgot to slow down and enjoy the moment.

7. You can't take strollers in a queue (not sure if you know that or not). I've been pretty lucky with wait times. I get up early and hit a lot of the popular rides before the crowds even show up. Use FastPass where available. I always have snacks in my backpack; a few Cheerios or Goldfish crackers usually help with the wait! Also, a good game of eye spy is lots of fun (especially with your 4 year old).

If you're staying on property (which I strongly recommend), carve out some nap time for everybody because my suggestion for a "must do" is the parade right before park closing. Also, get "First Trip" buttons (I forget what they're called) for the whole family. I'm willing to bet the little ones will enjoy the extra attention from Cast Members and Characters. And don't forget about the fireworks!

Oh yeah - have fun!! :sohappy:

Where is the wishing well?

The wishing well is to the right of the castle, if you are looking at it from Main Street U.S.A. There's a path that takes you around the side of the castle into Fantasyland. The wishing well is on the path.

bellebuzz: I have visited every March, that exact week or the week after, for the past 8 years. The weather is very mixed. We have had years where it's very hot, in the 80's. We had one year where it was very low, in the 60's, and rainy. Mostly it's warm in the day, chilly at night. Keep an eye on the 10 day forecast to ensure what to pack.

I agree with going to Ariel's Grotto first, and then heading into Toontown. If your kids want to see the Fairies, do that before or after you see the Princesses. The line for the Fairies can get fairly long.

I see Buzz nearly every trip in Tomorrowland, even when I'm not looking for him. Get a times guide, he is sure to be on it. If not, you are still most likely going to see him at some point in Tomorrowland.

Have tons of fun, and take lots of pictures!

I'm sorry, I don't have a photo of the entire "area" of Storytime with Belle, but I can tell you it is small -ish in the WDW scheme of things! It holds around 50 - 75 people max.
This photo is from the week before Christmas in December 2008, which I think will be comparable to the week you are going. That week in December was crowds "building up" to Christmas, and you be there when crowds are building up to Spring Break. We got to Storytime with Belle just before the Cast Member that was with Belle closed off the storytime area. There were about 35 people there for the mid - afternoon show. Like I said, I don't have a photo of the whole area, but this is taken from the BACK row with my tiny Cannon Powershot, so you can see, it's not that big/ far!

I would take your daughter on Cinderellas Golden Carousel and find the horse with the gold ribbon on its tail. You can tell her it's Cinderella's own horse

At Tinker Bell's Treasures that wants to can now call Tinker Bell to Fantasyland from Pixie Hollow. Just speak to a Cast Member near the registers (have heard about this but never done it) You can also ask to "wake up Tink" if you get there early.

Little things like that...you can find many others on this site if you search for "disney secrets" or "fun facts" and find little hidden treasures within the park.

Honestly, just take your time to enjoy it. Don't rush from ride to ride and be constantly following a schedule - it takes away from the magic. Have fun!

I would try to go on the rides in Fantasyland early in the morning as that area tends to become very crowded with strollers and people and long lines for rides. The children will love Small World and just about all the rides in this area. Take your time and enjoy the moments and take lots of pictures, too.

Three years in a row I've had pics taken with Buzz, as mentioned earlier, outside the entrance to CoP.

Remember to slow down, take it all in and enjoy yourself.

I couldn't agree more! If your kids don't get to ride every ride, they won't know that! Just enjoy being in the park, relax and rest when you need to, use Fastpass, take photos, watch your children smile, and feel the magic.

First let me say, have a great time and enjoy every minute of it.
1. I have gone 3 years in a row at the end of march and while some morning there was a little chill it always warmed up in the afternoon.
2. I would do like everyone else said. Get your tickets ahead of time that way when you get there you can walk right in and not worry about lines or being excited and then having to stop to talk tickets.
3. Sorry I have never been to Belles storytime but just like every other show get there early if you want that great seat.
4. Not sure about this one.
5. Like many people said, he can be seen outside of space ranger spin. I don't know if the characters change but I saw him and woody at pixar place in hollywood sudios too, right across from toy story mania. You can always get the times guide to see where characters will be.
6. buy them everything they see haha just kidding:lol:. get them mickey ears if you think they will wear them. if its hot one day get them the mickey mouse ice cream bar its a classic. other than things like that everything you do will be great.
7. When I was there in march the past 3 years I have been lucky and wait times were not that bad. Grab fast passes for rides. Some rides may have some hidden mickeys while you wait in line. I know peter pan has one that is in the bark of a tree. You can try to look and show your kids that there is a mickey hidden. might help pass some time.

HAVE A GREAT TRIP. TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES AND ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF IT.
Side tips
I always keep maps as souvenirs, might be a nice scrap book piece if you make one or just something to keep from your first trip. I didnt start until later and wish i would have started sooner.

I like to collect disney dollars from my trips. You can get them at City Hall.

One other thing i did when I was there was did the pressed pennies. They have a book there that you can put your pennies in and all over the parks and hotels they have the machines to press your pennies with different characters and thing. I thought it was fun to do. If you go to customer service you can get a list of every penny machine in walt disney world. It was fun for me as an adult so im sure your kids would have fun too collecting them. not too expensive.

I'll throw in my 2 cents too!

1.) What will the weather mostly likely be like the 6th - 12th of March?
It will probably be mild, but bring sweaters just in case. Nights can still get a little chilly. And buy plastic ponchos and an umbrella before you get there because they are cheaper than buying them in the park. I was there once at that time, and all it did was rain.

2.) Do you rec. us ordering tickets now or waiting until we get to the park?
Buying them early is recommended. Lines will be shorter. although to be truthful, if you are there early enough the crowds aren't too bad in March.

3.) My daughter ( age 4) is most looking forward to Storytime with Belle. What has your expereince been with her story time? Do we have a good chance to get up close to see her or will DD be disapointed?
She won't be disappointed! The crowds are usually light this time of year. There are no bad seats.(she can sit right up front on the ground!) If I remember right, there's even a little time where you can get a photo with her at the end. I don't have kids, and I went to see this anyway. It's sweet.

4.) Do you rec. we go to Ariel's Grotto first thing or head for the Princess tent so that the kids arent asking all day "when do we see Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty etc...."
It's a good idea. The lines start pretty early for the character meet and greets. And then you are already in a great place to take in some of the rides for small kids!

5.) Where is the best place to see Buzz Lightyear? Is he always outside the space ranger spin or do we have to go to another park?
He's usually there...but I agree...ask a cast member to be sure!

6.) Anything we ABSOLUTELY have to do with our kids (4 and 21 mos.) at MK before we leave? We will spend most of our time at MK.
Do what they are comfortable doing. Remember...this place is a huge sensory overload...even for adults. If you go with the flow, and don't push them to do things that might freak them out, and get a nap in there...you'll do great! Everyone is different, but the place can really tire you out quickly the first time! Especially all the waiting in line.
I would recommend some unstructured play at Pooh's spot and Tom Sawyer Island. Let them run and let off some steam at least once per day!

7.) I know this is a long shot but---about how long of a wait is it per attraction and what are some suggestions on how to pass that time with two kids in a stroller in tow?
It changes and varies too much during the day. Some things it's good to get Fastpass for, if it available that day, and the lines seem really long.(Pooh, Peter Pan) But sometimes you can avoid the looooong waits by hitting Fantasyland early.
As another member mentioned...there's no way to have strollers in line, so you might want to bring a small pack with you, with essentials and snacks for some of the waits.
I know when I went with my nephew, we passed the time in line playing silly games like ISpy, and memory games and looking for Hidden Mickeys in queues, and trying to guess what we might see once we got to the front.
