I've never eaten at CRT but I really like all of the other TS rstaurants in MK. I've had both lunch and dinner at LTT and enjoyed both but like lunch better. The Plaza is fantastic!! The sandwiches are huge and delicious and the ice cream desserts are awesome. Tony's was a pleasant surprise for me after all of the bad reviews I've read about it. It would be tough for me to just choose one of them!!

Yeah Tonys is a fave of ours too but we are looking to try somewhere new this time, what gets me about the plaza is paying ts prices for a sandwich

Haha the Thanksgiving Meal where they just keep feeding and feeding you!

See things like that lead me to believe its better than the plaza, the big thing must be that i find it hard to believe that salads and sandwiches are worth a ts price

Get the Patriots Platter (I think thats what it is) Youll get salad with your feast! ITS GREAT! Ive eaten at Tonys and Ive only had steak. It is good but LTT in my opinion is just better.

I've actually eaten there a few times. Only had the really terrible service once.

We had a server who showed up at our table after we'd been seated for 15 minutes, took our drink order and ignored us for the rest of the meal. Other servers delivered the drinks and the meal, nobody stopped by to ask if everything was OK [it wasn't, the meal was cold when we got it], never got refills [asked other passing servers who said they'd tell our server]. We never got dessert and our server "dropped off" our bill without stopping or making eye contact. One of the Character Attendants noticed me trying to get the server's attention and came over. When I described what had gone on, she went and found a Manager who promptly comped the meal. I purposely left the server a 1-cent tip, the only time in my life I've ever left less than 15-20%.

MontyMon,
you are definitely not alone. This is a story that is all too often described. When we go to a place and spend large amounts of $$ we rightfully have certain expectations.

The truth is though, you can pick the restaruant in WDW... just pick one... and someone somewhere will have had a bad server/ slow service story to tell. No matter how good the reviews for a place, you can count on the fact that someone is going to go to that wonderful place on a day when they're slammed, when the servers are irritable, and suddenly your carefully planned enjoyable meal turns into an experience that sucks the joy out of your life.

I guess the silver lining in your story (if there is one) is at least they recognized they blew it and tried to make it right. But I am with you, hey I can forgive you for the bad experience but it doesn't mean I am going to give you a second chance to ruin my "magical moment".

We're truly sorry you had such a bad experience...
hopefully your new fav restaurant won't be the next one to melt down:hammer:

It actually didn't "suck the joy out of my life".

It was more the straw that broke the camel's back. I had never been terribly impressed with the food [other than the Mac & Cheese :slurp:] and this particular server put me over the top on deciding the restaurant wasn't worth it. The Manager was as pleasant as could be and I made a point of putting in a guest comment for both him and the character attendant at GR. I didn't report the server, because honestly he hadn't been around long enough for me to catch his name and when the Manager comped the bill, he took the charge sheet that would have had the server's name. I didn't realise until I was at GR.

I think I might be the only person but I really like the Liberty Tree Tavern.

you are not alone - i LOVE the food there. But I am a yankee so it's comfort food to me :-)

We just ate there on the afternoon after I ran the half marathon - nothing warms you up better than hot turkey, stuffing and gravy!

my vote would be resort dining as well. its so quick to just hop on the monorail . the food is much better as well. if you plan an earlier dinner you can hop out with no crowds and even come back after if its not to late.

Right, first time to the Magic Kingdom and although I'm guessing this has been asked before but what's best for a sit down dinner? This thread is kinda undecided!
