Here's a very short update for Saturday and part of Sunday.
-freezing cold temperatures at night. The ride on the tram wasn't a fun experience.
-Tiana's Showboat Jubilee still drew major crowds for the afternoon.
-POTC had a surprisingly short wait in the morning, the ride's effects all seemed to be working.
-It's a Small World actually went up to a 50 minute wait!
-Mickey's Philharmagic had it's first breakdown....sorta. All of the show audio stopped playing while the show continued on (for a few minutes). It was embarassing, to say the least.
-I rode the new TTA for the first time, the narration itself isn't as bad in person, not saying it's very good either. I do wish they could have done more with the ride though. When passing through SM I could not see any effects. (maybe the windows are still covered?)
-Finally got around to SM. First off, the standby line LED display (for the wait times) is missing. Second, the new and improved queue is great! The games were mildly entertaining and the new load area is amazing to look at. As for the ride itself, while I agree that more could have been done, the ride is FAR darker than before and it still is very enjoyable. The post show was interesting as well. Overall, I'm pleased with what they did with the ride. I loved it before and I still love it now.
-HM is very spooky at night. I never caught the thunder effect in the exterior queue until now.
-The Christmas fireworks show was very well done. There was something magical about watching fireworks and being able to see you breath at the same time.
Now onto DHS. I ctually didn't do any rides (we were maily there for two reasons) but I liked what they did for the holidays.
-Fantasmic! was as great as always. Surprisingly, it didn't feel as packed as usual (was able to walk right into the auditorium without standing in line for an hour) but the show was still full. I don't get all the hate towards the Pocahontas sequence. It's very well done, maybe a little transitioning better would help but....
-The Osborne Lights were amazing. This was my first time seeing them and it took my breath away. Truly a magical Disney experience for anyone coming there. I also loved the falling "snow" they added in. Well worth the trip!
-TSMM had a wait of 140 minutes.
On Sunday we went to Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island.
-The temperatures seemed even colder than the night before. I was frozen to the bone.
-With Virgin closed, Starabilias gone, and several of the clubs "deserted" the place felt like a ghost town. Real shame.
-Surprisingly, Characters in flight was still operating. The windchill above must have been bad, considering the baloon was rocking in all directions.
-I managed to catch Sherlock Holmes at the AMC 24. We sat all the way up on the 3rd balcony, above the projector.
Overall, I had loads of fun, despite freezing temperatures. Sorry, but no pictures.
