Is that their plan?
I think I am in the minority but I LOVE FP.

I honestly think they were just testing it out for Dumbo.
I would hate to see FP go....
I did a quick calculation and for our family it is (not counting food and souvenirs) a cost of $13/person/hour (flight, tickets, hotel)for a roughly 14 hour day at the parks. When one looks at it that way, waiting in line for an hour is very costly as I am now basically paying $13 to ride something. With FP and our planning around it, we get in 3-4 rides per hour. That is roughly $3.75/ride. Much more bang for your buck. If Disney told me when I got in the queue to hand over $13 to ride RnRC I don't think that would be happening. If Disney takes my ability to time manage out of the equation they are basically taking more of my money with less returns on my investment.
I mean you're gonna have to wait in line no matter what...
But no, FP isn't going anywhere. There's some rides that shouldn't have it, but still, not going anywhere.
What would Disney's reason be to try and phase out FPs anyway?

I always thought it was very unpopular and got lots of complaints.

The lineless queues look like they're just going to turn into a giant cluster #*&%
I love FP to a point, but I think it needs to go. I'd rather them have regular lines with no form of fast pass or waiting for your number- or maybe a FP you can buy separately like Uni.
You can't even get on rides like Space, Soarin, or TSMM without massive wait times if you don't get to the parks bright and early.
