From all accounts, TDO tried to get a scaled back version, but Burbank shouted them down.

And if EO comes, so what if he was wrong about it being announced at D23, he was still right about it coming.

Yea, he's an a-hole, but the guy has an incredibly respectable tract record as it pertains to breaking rumors before they come to be, and I still wish WDW had an Al Lutz.

D23 predictions--jt04 WINS!

Well folks, I tallied up the predictions and collated them here for all to see.
Since I started the prediction thread, I pick the winner. So there. It ain't fair, but
tough noogies. I picked jt04 because he predicted the most right, with the least wrong,
and the least waffling (as in "might be"). Tomman710 also was pretty darn good!
Everyone else was "just a little more wrong".

I didn't include predictions like "people will be unamused" and things
like that, just specifics.

I'm the complete loser, because even though I started the thread,
I didn't make a prediction.

Anyway, let the argument begin. Here's the predictions, cut and pasted.

Star Tours - Pretty definately.
Little bit about SM refurb - 20% chance. Maybe a little tidbit or two.

refurbs (Jungle...)but I would be surprised to see them mentioned.

Mostly, look for DCA info. Carsland and whatnot. Possibly a bit about the Hong Kong additions.

The announcement for Shanghai is ready to go but they may delay it pending on the Chinese governments wishes.

I think DCA will be the big head liner at the Expo but this is what I think might be said.
DL- Captain Eo, Star Tours, Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, Tiana's Showboat Jubilee,
DCA- World of Color, Little Mermaid, Carsland, and Buena Vista Street.
WDW-Star Tours, Tiana's Showboat Jubilee, Space Mountain
HKDL- more info on Toy Story land, Mystic Point and Grizzly Trail
TDR- Toy Story Midway Mania! at TDS
DLRP- 20th Anniversary, and a big maybe on Ratatouille
DVC-Hawaii and Grand Californian
World of Color has an hour presentation on Friday, but I think the overall winner of the Expo will be Carsland.

The only thing I see that will potentially be "revolutionary" is the new Dumbo "queue".

Mermaid will be a terrific ride, I'm sure of it, but there's nothing truly revolutionary about it.

And yes, the M&G are not your average M&G, but there's nothing mind blowing about them either, IMO.

Whereas TDS is just far and above every park in terms of theming, innovation, an story telling.

The thing that's revolutionary here is that a WS-esque Experience is coming to the MK.

This isn't all about rides, this is just adding many layers to the theming....And that's fantastic.

No question. If Asia at AK were just a coaster and raft ride without the unified and detailed theming, it would be a vastly different experience.

For many guests, experiencing the theming and atmosphere is just as important as experiencing a show or ride. And for families with young kids (yes, they account for a big chunk of WDW's revenue even if they don't post on this site), meeting princesses and other characters is one of the main reasons they visit Orlando.

The new Fantasyland at MK will be incredibly popular, even if it adds only one ride.
