This is a fave for my DH and I! We love love love R&C! It is our tradition that we go here for dinner for our first night of vaca! We've done it for the 5 years we've been going together. You'll have a great time! The food is terrific and we watch Illuminations too! :sohappy:

We go here out first and last night of every trip. The location can't be beat, especially for Illuminations, and the staff is almost always excellent.

Several years ago our son (who was 3 at the time) took a liking to one of the waitresses. We went back for a second visit and she wasn't working but one of the other waitresses took a liking to him and set up an elaborate plan to let him "start off the fireworks" after a special signal from Mickey. He was thrilled.

After reading through this thread I'm starting to question my disdain for this restaurant. Two summers ago we arrived for our priority seating reservation, only to be bypassed by many people who arrived long after us but seemed friendly with the CM's working at the front. After questioning our forty-five minute wait, along with two pagers they claimed were malfunctioning, we were finally seated. Our server was slow and inattentive, and the food was greasy. Must have been a bad day.

Reader's Digest Condensed Version: One of my favorite restaurants. A girlfriend and I went there three times in three different trips over the course of one year. Last trip, in August of 05, had flowers delivered a few minutes before Illuminations and I popped the question and she said yes. Everyone around burst into applause (except the table right next to us, oblivious to it all as all the other tables in view throughout the patio were watching). Wait staff came out and sang "All you Need is Love." Illuminations began and it was awesome.

We've been back to WDW - and R&C - two times since then, and I'm looking forward to a point where our daughter will be old enough to hear the story and appreciate it (hopefully while eating there, at the exact same table).

Great spot..very homey....Fab food too!

This is one of my usual dining stops whenever i am in town. This along with Marrekesh are pretty much always 'must dos' for me.

I have yet to have experienced any of the 'entertainment' however ...guess this is because i never sit in the bar area and i am usually there for Lunch as opposed to Dinner. Perhaps this coming visit i shall finally get to enjoy the relvelry...

My previous visits to The Rn'C have always been great. Highly recommend it if you like good non-fast food type grub and a casual but homey local. Sitting outside is a plus...exspecially later in the day when the sun sinks low in the horizon and turns the sky 'Florida Orange'..

:)

I haven't been to the restaurant part of Rose and Crown in a long time but I love the pub part of the place. I always stop in there to grab a Welsh Dragon. I introduced my friend to the drink a few months ago, when he saw it he laughed at it saying "You can't order a frilly drink in a pub!" I told him he had to try one so he did and as soon as he was finished he said that was the best drink he's ever had. Plus he used a Shaun of the Dead quote and that made it even better :sohappy:

Don't always go to Rose and Crown but decided to make go in June when we were down. Thought it was one of the best meals we had all week! Sat by the water, had a great waitress and the food was excellent. I had steak which I was expecting wouldn't be that good but it was great! I was very impressed and will have to make a point of going there next time we go down.

I thought the steak i had there in July was as good as the 1 i had at Le Cellier!! That said i didnt have the Filet Mignon, but still it was great in the rose and crown

I totally agree! We went to Le Cellier as well on this recent trip and it was just as tender at Rose and Crown even though it wasn't a filet like it was at Le Cellier. It was a great cut of meat!
