"Epcot Promenade Stucture" removal

OK, I found the original paperwork for the installation of the tarps. In the paperwork, it's referred to the "Future World Millennium Celebration - Millennium Central and Icon".

There wasn't an address listed for the location, but rather a specific diagram of the area marked off. (And what's cool is that it uses the original diagrams of the plaza, complete with all the waterways, etc)

And the contractor was the Amiercan Bridge Company out of Orlando. Though it appears that company has since relocated to Tampa.

EDIT: OK, I posted too soon. Came across a second filing for "Design, Fabricate and Install A Cable Supported Fabric Structure". The contractor for that was Birdair, Inc, Amherst, NY... So my guess is that ABC was in charge of the support columns and structures, and Birdair was the actual tarps.
Of course, you don't have to be quite as careful in taking things down as you do putting them up... ;)

Of course, you start poking through the filings a bit more, and you come across the one for the demolition of the entrance plaza for the Leave a Legacy stones... (sigh)

Here's the Test Track "FastPass Shade Structure", which I believe is a separate entity from the main canopy...

Going back a little farther I found reference to "Site work for shade structures"

And a random Epcot note... I found it very cool that the "street address" for American Adventure is 1776 Avenue of the Stars. :)

Very cool, but I meant the picture with the ponds that you alluded to! Sorry!:o

Love that AA is 1776, BTW. :D Very classy.

The "Site Work for Shade structures" one is for the TT canopy. Pakotz did not work on that or the tarps.

How would you guys react if they removed the tarps but at the same time painted the entire communicore buildings in that sky blue and mondo green color like they did for the breeze ways?

Yeah, that's a sacrifice I'd be willing to take.

So Innoventions West would be Green...East would be Blue and the Earth Station would be Turqoise :lookaroun

Isn't that what's happening?:confused::lol::lookaroun

I just wish it wasn't Green= East/Blue= West. They should BOTH have those colors...

 Nice try....

....I would think that they have to paint ES, now....It wouldn't fit with the Green and Blue.

Paint Base 21 the same color as the SSE entrance' and while they are at it they should also repaint the legs of SSE and add a new design for the area around SSE to fit the entrance.

am I getting my hopes in the tarps coming down or is this still speculation
Tarps have been in the plans for a while.

This looks promising....

I agree.

The design to use would most likely be one of stripes. Silver stripes, seeing that they are on the entrance.

One thing I am wondering is what will they do with the FountainView. Wasn't the color on that changed just a few years ago?

They could change it,or find a color for the rest of the buildings that goes with it.

On a side note......I was looking at maps of Innoventions,do they really only use 1/2 the buildings?! Shame if they do.:(

True. But dis-assembly of a structure is not as critical as assembly. You don't have to worry about signing off on long-term structural strength. Plus the original creation of the tarps included development and design work.
They may just be contracting out work to a local company that's used to aerial/elevated structures, rather than the tarp designer who's in upstate NY, or the support structure contractor who's now in Tampa.

Thats a good theory; makes sense.

Anyone know if any other activity has taken place in the Innoventions area in the past few days?
