I am taking a solo trip to Disney this weekend and I was looking for some feedback for where I should stay. I am a regular at Disney(15-20 times a year) so I have stayed at 95% of the resorts on property. I am looking for suggestions as to where I should stay this trip. I dont want value and I dont want Moderate so please let me know where you think I should stay by voting in the poll above. If anyone is going to be there this weekend id love to meet up esp since im going solo this time :(

I would say my suggestion depends on some additional information. Do you have a preference for parks you visit, restaurants you frequent?

As it is just you, I would say villa's are a waste. If you spend much of your time in MK, one of the monorail resorts would be my choice, Contemporary if you like the idea of walking to and from the park, GF or Poly if you like to make use of the gym, spa or associated restaurants.

I like Yacht or Beach if your preference is Epcot.

AKL for a taste of the exotic, I would consider concierge here if only for access to the morning and evening safaris.

AKL or WL if you have a car, where Disney transport is not as much an issue, and you like a more quiet, relaxed setting.

I just started looking this morning and so far everything is available that i listed. Obviously that will change the later in the process i get. The thing i am finding difficulty with is dining reservations(which is no surprise) but i would like to eat at a halfway decent restaurant

Restaurants will be difficult. If you have some preferences, be flexible about time and day of your visit. Generally hotel restaurants are a little easier than resorts. If something is booked, try again every day. Often spaces open up, especially if you are just looking for 1-2.

Turf Club at Saratoga is a very nice restaurant, and hardly ever packed. I'm not necessarily saying you should stay at SSR (though I like it a lot), but since it's just for a weekend, and ressies are slight, you might be better off staying at SSR, so you can just walk from your room to the main house for dinner. Personally, were I flying solo, I'd probably do all (or almost-all) Quick Service and save money for the next time.

But bottom line is, it's your vacation and yours alone. You have no one else to please, and you know you better than we do, so you should choose the resort you enjoy the most. The other external factor I'd consider is where you intend to spend most of your time. You know the usual advice - if you're a MK kind of guy, try for a monorail resort or WL, if you prefer Epcot and/or the Studios go for one of the resorts in-between the two, AKL if you prefer AK, SSR or OKW if you want to do a lot of time downtown. And if you think most of your time will be spent lounging at your resort, then as I suggested before, go for the resort that you hold the fondest.

I love poly, i think it's a great resort and it's so darn pretty. as far as a solo trip though, you might like the contempary, i think that's where i would feel the safest. (i know i know, they're all safe, but that one seems to be the safest)

In ref to this comment:
"dznygirl64If you go 15 to 20 times a year dont you already know all this?We live in Illinois and go 3 to 4 times a year and know what to do. "

I'm sure Patsfan28 knows what to do, but was just wondering our opinion, when you go so much i'm sure it's harder to choose where to go. Nothing wrong with asking us our opinion

Brilliant...and Canadian
In the Parks
No
I voted Beach Club, mainly because I'll be checking in there Saturday! :king:

As for meals, I'd suggest phoning and asking what's available. With Free Dining just started, Table Service is going to be harder to get. I'd start with Resort restaurants and Signature dining outside the parks as they are the last to book fully.

Good luck!

If you happen to see two bright orange "Camps Canada" baseball caps bobbing around, that'll likely be me and my son Morgan [I'm the larger of the two].

I actually love the Turf Club. If anyone hasn't been there i would highly recommend it. I stayed at Saratoga Springs 2 weeks ago and as always it was very nice.

I hate when free dining is around b/c i never get to eat at the places i usually frequent. I generally try to go outside of free dining season for that reason but work has had me traveling a lot recently and i just need a good getaway weekend to WDW.
