I can pick my ADR's August 31st, we picked the standard dining meal plan with 1 sit down meal, 1 quick service, and 1 snack each per day.

Normally in past years we would just grab quick service meals, however last year on our honeymoon we ate at the Rose & Crown pub and the Castle both for dinner and were very good meals. We would like to do more sit down dinners this trip so I need help picking a few.

Reading through some threads it looks like we have to do the Crystal Palace for breakfast, our lunch's will probably be quick service as we go through the day.

Please give me suggestions for restaurants, we will be in WDW Nov 29th - Dec4th so I need 5 dinner spots. We are not real fancy eaters, chicken, steak, pork, pasta type meals and were happy. Thanks for the help :)

Are you more interested in eating at the parks or at the resorts? Do you prefer buffet or table service? Do you have certain days you are going to be at certain parks or are you going to plan around where you get ADR's?

Have you decided what parks you are going to be in?

We definitely have some favorites. I love Le Cellier, it is hard to get into though. I also really like 50s Prime Time Cafe in DHS. We generally do Crystal Palace for dinner and do the castle for breakfast one day.

Are you looking for character meals, or just regular meals.

We also like Liberty Tree Tavern although are disappointed that there are no characters there anymore.

We are tryng Rose and Crown for the first time this next trip, it seems to have pretty normal food like you said you liked.

Let us know what you decide!

Sorry should have specified it will just be my wife and I.

They have not announced the hours for the parks yet for the time of our trip. Hopefully they will close to the end of Aug at the time I can start booking ADR's the days do not matter much right now I just want to figure out a few more good places to eat and plan the days in the parks when booking ADR's or after looking at the calendar for the extra magic hours as well as scheduling around Mickey’s Christmas party at the MK which we will attend one night.

I would prefer table service but as far as a buffet I would be open to that as an option for a meal one night.

More interested in eating at the parks unless a resort has a nice dinner, such as I have heard about the Contemporary. I was thinking possibly a late dinner at the California Grill on night to see the fireworks from the MK

Epcot in my opinion offers the best table service meals as far as parks go. But in our recent Spring Break trip, we visited monorail hotels and really enjoyed Ohana's and 1900 Park Fare.

My DH and I don't have kids yet, so it's always just the two of us at the parks. We like the 50's Prime Time and usually eat there twice...we try to schedule our meal so that we have enough time to eat and still get good seats for Fantasmic...the perfect evening! :D We also like to eat at the Crystal Palace in MK during Wishes. In general, I like to plan our dinners around the nightly shows because it makes things a little more "magical"..nothing like eating dinner while watching fireworks with your hubbie! :sohappy: The restaurants are also less crowded at this time because a) it makes for a really late dinner (esp. for kids), and b) most people are outside watching the fireworks.

ClemsonTigger gave me some good restaurant advice in another thread. He highly recommended the California Grill, so we're going there for an official "date" one night. From what I've heard the food is amazing (particularly the sushi) and it's a very romantic atmosphere. We made our ressie for 8:45 so we can put our stuff down at the table and then watch Wishes on the observation deck before we order.

Tokyo Dining is another good "couple" restaurant. It's mostly sushi and the menu is a little more geared toward adults. If sushi isn't your thing, they also have various chicken, beef and fish dishes with rice or steamed vegetables. The noise level is low and because the restaurant is elevated, it has a beautiful view of the lagoon. I recommend both lunch and dinner here - lunch is nice because it's quiet and gives you a peaceful break from the crowds, and dinner is nice because you can watch Illuminations!

Here's the menu in case you're interested:

Hope that helps!

goofykt - what time do you usually choose an ADR for the Prime Time Cafe? to leave time for Fantasmic. Something like 7:50-8pm?

We go in the off-season (usually Labor Day week), so Fantasmic is a little earlier...8:30 I think??? I made my ressies for 6:20...I figured an hour+ to eat and walk down to the auditorium, which will put us there an hour before the show. We used to get there only 30 min before the show, but I bet it's going to fill up ridiculously fast since they're only doing 2 shows a week! GAH!!! :brick:

Glad you're going to try the 50's Prime Time - it's my husband's favorite! He likes the pot roast, but I'm a meatloaf kinda gal. It's a really fun restaurant - you get to interact and joke around with the CM's (and usually your "cousins" aka fellow vacationers at the next table)

I like the meatloaf at the Prime Time Cafe too! It's my favorite! And don't forget the smores!

Oh, and a Mowie Wowie. Delicious! :slurp:

I would pick Teppan Edo, and i heard Le Cellier is awesome (I am trying it out next week) in Epcot. In DHS I would pick Prime Time Cafe.

We love Teppan Edo for Japanese food. You can get Sushi there too. We love the New England Clambake at Beach Club Resort. It's great!!! We love LeCellier for steaks. Have to do that! Tusker House for the character breakfast. We love Ohana's. Family style dining. If you time it right, you can watch the fireworks at MK. The food keeps coming and it's really good. Boma's is good if you want something different, African food. Mama Melrose is good for Italian. Those are our usuals....we try to find something new each year. We are trying Tony's Town Square this time and Liberty Tavern along with our usuals. Anyone like those:veryconfu?

We like Liberty Tree Tavern, although now that they took away the characters it won't be the same.

But we didn't care for Tony's Town Square. We had to wait forever. The food was just eh...And the service wasn't great. Hopefully you'll have a better experience!

Thanks! We always stay with the ones we know and love every year, but everyone, but me, wants to try something new. We gave up Crystal Palace and Boma's to try these. I have heard good things about Liberty Tavern, but I am a bit nervous for Tony's.......thanks for the heads up......:animwink:

I am going in October with my husband and 2 kids. I just started thinking about ressies were not on the dining plan but get the season pass discount so. Capemay late breakfast ate there for dinner really good but never tried breakfast. 50s prime time I saw a pic. of the smores oh my god. Rainforest at animal kingdom. A romantic dinner with the huby while we send the kids solo. Maybe Le cellier? Let the kids do epcot and have a quickie or california grill and let the kids go to magic kingdom. Which one?

Both restaurants are nice...I much prefer Cali grill over Le Cellier. I'm not a big steak eater and I don't like eating in a "celler". The view at Cali Grill is gorgeous! We had a window view of fireworks...would have been just as happy on the observation deck. Food was delicious. Although a bit noiseier than Le Cellier I'd pick Cali Grill :) Happy dining:wave:
