I Had My First Evac

You must have not been evaced from a cool area of Pirates, because a Pirates evac is defintely cool.

Except when it takes 45 mins to evac it :fork: We were the boat right by an evac point but they shoved us back so it took ages. Obviously I understand, but I was slightly doped up from getting my wisdom teeth out so it was a bit of an...experience. Especially when I got evaced from BTMRR immediately.

Note: I had never been evaced before this adventure. And that's after growing up at WDW and working there. :lookaroun

Twice.....SE and Splash. SE evac was interesting but a long walk from the top. Splash was fun but I'm getting old........ so on our next trip in August to celebrate my birthday I hope we just have a non evac visit

There is no way in he77 that I would erase pictures from my camera. I don't don't care what the CM says to me. They have no right to tell me what I can and can't take pictures of.

Well, yea that part stinks. It's hard to evac people when they are surrounded by water.

Unless you want Disney Security/Legal Team on top of you, you should probably do what they say.

It actually looked like it sucked to be the CM in the water pushing the boats. I enjoyed the rest of it though...Pirates was one of the few attractions I never worked on so seeing it backstage was all new to me :)

Yea, it's like a labyrinth back there. That was one of the best days of JC training, they took us all around the ride. I may or may not have worn Captain Jack's hat. :lookaroun

My fellow intern may or may not have done the same thing :lookaroun

And yes. It is a maze. It's especially mazey when you factor in the wisdom teeth situation  Although, I got lost in Splash once so at least I made it out of Pirates...

I've heard Splash is insane to the point of being dangerous backstage. I'd also like to point out we have successfully hijacked this thread.

I fully expect to get scolded shortly but we are still sort of on topic, yeah? And Splash is a bit dangerous. Especially when the it starts filling with water when you weren't planning on that happening. Good exercise. Yep. :lookaroun

Excellent. And by excellent I mean that's insane.

Anyway, expect a long PM later.

There are many things inside Everest, not surprised they are storing stuff inside.

Also, Everest being hit by lightning is nothing new, Tower of Terror also gets struck ALL the time during storms.

For all the thousands of times I have been on EVERY Disney World ride, I have only been evacuated off El Rio Del Tiempo. Don't get me started.

Am I te only one That thinks of Molly Shannon's Character on Saturday Night Live? Jeanie Darcie.

I have only been evacuated once .. and that was on The Universe of Energy.. We made it in to the First Theater .. Not 5 minutes after we were all seated in the vehicle... The Castmembers told us "Everyone needs to get out. I am serious" I was actually bummed I like that attraction... Its a great time killer.. This was in November of 2008

Agreed. You could just pretend to erase pictures and then upload them to the internet the following day. What does Disney have to hide anyway?

I was evacuated from Test Track last October because of rain. We were right inside the cold room, so it was kind of neat to get out of the cars and walk through there. Except the CM's kept telling people to stay to the side and off the track and no one would listen. I was getting very annoyed.

I've had 3 evac experiences, two of them were on splash mountain (got stuck in the zip a dee doo da scene both times, very annoying. The other time was on test track, just after i had been through seat belt check.

I have been involved in doing the fantasmic evac as a CM because of lighting but that is very boring from an evac point of view. (though the guest who didn't want to move did try and bite my head off!)

Got evacuated from Pirates this past March. We were stuck at the one scene for 45 minutes before they finally came and pushed us up to an area where we could all jump ship. "We wants the redhead, we wants the redhead..." was all we heard for like the first half hour or so before they turned the volume down. :ROFLOL:

Pretty long walk from way out behind the ride area to the gate up by the front of the ride and we got a FastPass good for 1 ride on any other ride that day. A FastPass good for any ride the rest of the day would have been much nicer!

yippee!!! just noticed this was my 800th post!
