Walt Disney World's Enchanted Tiki Room getting some Outside Love soon...

I have heard this from someone I trust... They are going to make the outside nice and new looking again!!! Hopefully this will be but a step toward the one rumor of 2011 I love the most, the possibility of bringing the Disneyland show to Florida!!!!

Yea some outside work may start soon.

But I wouldn't expect Tropical Serenade in WDW any time soon. Stitch is much more likely.

Do you mean they are going to refurb or change the little outside pre-show? (Hope not...I love that part!)
Or just some painting and stuff like that?

Would be nice to see WDW put some LIFE back in this attraction Duckberg :sohappy:

Glad to hear it is getting some TLC.

However, like SirGoofy stated, don't expect the original show to return. Many sources have stated that the much more likely change will be to a new version based on Tokyo's (though there will have to be some differences from their version because their show is based on a Japanese stitch TV show.)Also keep in mind that Stitch alone would make the show more popular than the original with today's audiences (and would require a replacement for SGE!).

Stitch's Tiki Room in Tokyo has not performed anywhere as well as they had expected...so the Stitch overlay is now the "unlikely" outcome.. the only incarnation of the Tiki Room that is doing well is Disneyland California's... so dont count it out...its logical and ties in with the 40th Anniv of WDW-MK, and the project wouldnt be a zillion dollars so it is cost effective.

Combine this with that every "Update" of the Tiki Room has failed IMHO and the fact that a "restored/fixed up/prettied" Tiki Room (with some show alterations) at Disneyland is doing great...seems like Money would be well spent as they are not going to rip the building down (after all they are fixing the outside up!). I also have faith that the Imagineers and the management are starting to see that this is just one of those times when the original formula was truly the best. If they make the change it will show all of you that they can do Great things, and I believe the Age of Wonder & Magic will soon be in full bloom at WDW once again... just have faith!

Irregardless of anyone's opinions...I will continue to hope and pray for this outcome...and as all the other likely options they have seem to be being eliminated one by one, the possibility that those of us who wish to have the Disneyland show at WDW rises and rises...

I'm interested how you know the Tokyo one has "failed".

Also, Stitch is still the front runner for anything related to Tiki Room, as far as I have heard.

Well we will have to wait and see...maybe you are right, but I am feeling the odds are marching in my general direction...

Be honest though...do you want the Tokyo Stitch show (assuming you have seen it otherwise please look at it before responding) in WDW?

Would you prefer (assuming you have seen it) the Disneyland version in WDW?

One last thing, remember the Plan set in motion was to have the Under New Management show be first at WDW, and then at Disneyland... the fans (after seeing under new management) did petitions, letter writing, etc...and the decision was made to NOT bring it to Disneyland... so point is, Stitch was the plan, but now its in Tokyo running, doesnt seem to be such a hot plan anymore.

I I had my choice I would pick the original, although I think the Stitch one is very well done.

Everything I've heard about the Tikis from Orlando points to Stitch coming in.

I've seen the Tokyo Stitch version and it is well done, but unless things change, that would be THREE stitch related "attractions" in the MK. If they do that....wow.

I'm for Stitch in WDW's Tiki Room, especially if it involves getting rid of Great Escape as well. Kill two birds and a crappy AE replacement with one stone.

I would prefer they find some way to work in the old bird hosts rather then the complete swap out of Bird hosts present in Tokyo. They can probably find some way to recast their voices.

Irreguardless of whether it's a word or not, how hard would it be for them to just have a show that can operate in two modes? Original Tiki and Stitch Tiki. Seems like a win-win to me. We do live in the computer age last I heard.
