Universe of Energy - How can it be great again?

I remember on my first visit to Epcot that visiting the Universe of Energy was a highlight, the huge AA dinosaurs was a sight! Do you think that some sort of ride, a small coaster (not even anything extreme) or something could be put into the current ride building that could bring you closer to the dinos and make the ride a must see again?

In the first scene, I completely agree but was wondering what can be done to get you in and around them and make the ride a little more interesting.

I may be wrong here but I'm pretty sure that building is basically made for the 'moving theater' type attraction. Gutting that system and replacing it with another system would probably be more expensive than starting over.

It's the classic EPCOT struggle... Can you make the topic of energy, or any other 'educational' topic, into an exciting ride/attraction? Anything you do in WDW uses energy (obviously) so it isn't a huge stretch to imagine that WDI could remake the theme of this pavilion to appeal to more people. I am surprised it has survived as long as it has in it's current state.

i think they should dump ellen and bill nye. redo it with more modern types of energy like solor, ethonol, hydrgen, hydro, and so on. somehting where like they show you pros and cons but something goes wrong when trying to hook them up and blows the heck outta something.

get rid of jeperdy too.

make it more ike we are honerary imagineers trying to power disney parks up using certain types of energy and each park has certain requirments so only one type will work at each park...............

I like the current show, but it is out of date. Seriously, Bill Nye is SO 1996...

Who would you want to be your new show hosts though?

No no more pixar characters, make it something original, Bill Nye as the host alone would be awesome but just as a voice over not seeing him and make it at least seem like it wasn't originally sponsored by an oil company.

The pre-show is WAY TOO LONG, not to mention you have to either stand or sit on the floor. Can anyone explain why they can't at least have benches in there? Is it too dark? The Ellen / Bill Nye jokes are just too corny as well. I'd much prefer a new energy discussion coupled with impressive HD footage at the beginning before heading into the moving theater. It seems Disney is involved now with the Planet Earch producers as the new Disneynature film is re-using all that footage. Perhaps they could use some of that to show nature as it is today, pristine and beautiful, then go into the moving theater to show the beginning of the universe and the Dinosaurs, then at the end show a grim future...unless people can do something, etc, etc.

Universe of Energy could be simply mind-blowing with the right show installed. It certainly got close with portions of the original version, and the current Big Bang sequence.

Absolutely. Scrap the current dated plot. Bring back dramatic films, state of the art visual effects, memorable music and add a bit of todays tech. The building, ride system and diorama are just fine. Okay... bring back all the diorama fx too.

There are plenty of benches if you get there before the show starts. And you THINK about that next time!
