Boardwalk or Beach Club

Ok, which do you recommend, Boardwalk or Beach Club? We have stayed at the Boardwalk but are taking 2 10 year old grandsons and are considering the Beach club because the pools are so wonderful. Has anyone stayed in both? I don't want anything smaller and I want a refrigerator. We went to Universal a few months ago and the rooms are tiny. Once they brought the refrigerator in, which there was no good place for, we had absolutely no room at all. It was miserable and we came home after 3 days.

Thanks for your help!!!

Having stayed at both many times with kids, Beach Club is my pick. Kids like the pool and the general store, oh, and Art the greeter.

Beach Club has two things going for it over Boardwalk - a better pool AND the Beach Club Marketplace, which is an easier place to get counter service. Boardwalk has so many wonderful restaurants, but aside from the bakery (which is hardly ever NOT busy), and the pizza window (which means eating outside, perhaps in not-so-accomodating weather) there are not too many places for a quick bite. I'm not the biggest fans of food courts, but it's just as nice to have them as an option as full-service restaurants are nice to have in the moderate resorts that have 'em. Options. :)

Having said all that, Beach Club & Boardwalk ARE spitting distance from each other. If you wind up staying in Boardwalk, there's no rule that says you can't walk over to grab a breakfast in Beach Club. There IS a rule that says Boardwalk guests can't use Beach Club Pool (though Beach Club guests CAN use the Boardwalk pool). If you can do Beach Club, I'd say go for it.

I've stayed at both through the DVC. I thought the views from the rooms favor the Boardwalk--waterway, main pool & tower of terror to the right of my balcony. It was spectacular. The pool at the Beach Club is definitely larger and nicer but there is one thing to keep in mind with the pools--the slides. The Beach Club's slide is larger but you need to leave the pool area and walk out toward the lake to go down the slide so we weren't thrilled with not seeing our 2 children go up and down the slide. They are only 3 and 8 so we obviously would need to take them up and down the slide each time. At Boardwalk, the slide is still huge and we could watch the 2 kids go together up the slide and make sure they were safe. Just my $.02.

Personally, I like the Boardwalk slide better!

Ditto. We've stayed at each once, but we prefer BC. Don't forget Beaches and Cream and Cape May Cafe (we prefer dinner). Have a great trip.

For myself I perfer Boardwalk. I like a pool I can swim in better, the BC pool is too twisty to try and swim laps, and to be honest, the sand bottom does nothing for me.

I also like the boardwalk entertainment and atmosphere.

However, my kids (6 and 9) LOVED the pool at BC. Both are really nice resorts. With the kids I would go for Beach Club, but if you got "stuck" in Boardwalk, that not such a horrible thing either :D

I've stayed at both and it's BC hands down for me. The pool, the Marketplace, Beaches and Cream...it's just an absolutely amazing resort. :) And it's just across the lake from all the boardwalk attractions, so in my opinion it's the best of both worlds.

I have to agree with many of the posters who picked BC. Most have gone over the reasons for picking it already. Kids always love that pool. You can always walk over to the BW to experience the atmosphere as someone stated. I have stayed at both numerous times.

I've never stayed at either, but have been weighing both options for our next trip. I think I would go with BC b/c of the food court. Though, since they are so close, we'd probably spend many evenings in the BW.

Both are in a great location but I would have to lean towards Beach Club. The pool is alot bigger, plus Beaches and Cream is right there for a snack or sundae and you still have the boardwalk across Crescent Lake. If you stay at Boardwalk you get all of that except Storm Along Bay. Only Yacht and Beach Club guests can swim there. If you stay at Beach Club you could wander to the Boardwalk pool as well.

You can't go wrong with either choice, both are great resorts. Given that, taking kids with you, my choice would be BC....the kids love the pool there. People used to tell me the hardest thing about staying there was getting the kids out of the pool to go to the parks....:dazzle:

I hear you! my kids will often say the favorite part of their trip was the pool. :brick:

On the topic, I love both places. I love the decor at the boardwalk, but the beach club's pool is fantastic and it is a bit more convenient with the counter service and mug refill and the shorter walk to epcot.

You didn't say if you were DVC, but if you are and decide the BCV, I would request an Epcot view. If you are home ealier enough you can sit on your deck and watch the fireworks right from you room.

My kids love the pool. Two years ago we stayed at AKL and my kids couldn't wait to get back to BCV.

I would pick the BC. IMO, it is quieter there. There is a lot of extra traffic at the BW. I also like the atmophere better at the BC, although BW is also good.

I vote BC! The pool is insanely awesome as has been previously stated. I think that with 2 children along- you'll find the eating places more convenient at BC. There is the Marketplace store where mugs can be refilled. Mugs can also be refilled at Hurricane Hannas by the pool. (You used to be able to refill at Beaches and Cream - but I'm not sure if you still can. ) You can bring or buy noodles for the pool. I just don't find the quick food options are as great at the BW. I also feel like BW parking lots are SOOOOO far away from the building.

Regardless of your descision- have a great time!
