I thought this might be a cool thread. if anyone has a story about seeing a famous celeb at the parks share them here.

I saw James Gandoifini who plays Tony Soprano at MK on the Grand Prix Speedway

I saw Paige Davis from Trading Spaces at Animal Kingdom. Later that year her book came out. One of the "journal entries" in the book was from that day! She got to go "backstage" and hang out with the giraffes.

The rest of the trip I kept my eyes open for more Trading Spaces crew -- no luck!

My mom and I also ran into Ernie Banks on the Boardwalk!

Everytime I go to Disney I see celebrities .. Mickey, Minnie Donald just to name a few.
A few years ago I went to the Magic Kingdom during extra magic hours.it was about 2:00am my Girlfriend (at the time) and I were in line for the Speedway and right in front of us was Kenny Chesney .. I couldn't believe it. The cast member was oblivious as to why I told this guy i was a huge fan:ROFLOL:

When was this? I was there near the end of the Festival, and I kept watching for anyone, but no luck. I almost met Warren Brown he was there, but it was our last day, and I didnt want to wait an hour, when he wasent even doing pictures or signings :veryconfu

Kevin Bacon

In 1998 (I think) my friend Tim went to the bathroom, and as I was waiting for him Kevin Bacon and his whole family walked by... 30 seconds later my friend comes running out of the bathroom yelling, "Guess who I just peed next to!?!?"

We were on our way out of the madness on Main Street around 10:30-ish at the MK last December when a CM practically threw herself in front of us to stop us from stepping off the curb by the Emporium entrance nearest the firehouse. Regis & Kelly walked riiiight past us all done up to shoot the Christmas parade. We're not fans so it wasn't a big deal. In fact, I remember the moment quite well. Me: "Look. That's Regis & Kelly, honey." Hubby: "So?" Kids: "Who the heck is that?" Kinda irked us, tho, because a group of obvious fans had been standing by the ropes waiting for them with pics of them printed on their shirts and hats. They were all so excited and hopping up and down, waving, and calling their names. They ignored the poor fans as if they didn't exist. Just kept right on walking faced towards each other talking with full entourage in-tow. Seems like when they are "on-stage" even if they have somewhere to be and can't stop to greet fans they could at the very LEAST acknowledge their existance with a look, smile, wave, something. Ya know? Seriously, after all, without your fans you're nothing more than an ordinary Joe like the rest of us.

I saw Don Knotts at DHS in the 90s. Last October Donovan McNabb was at DHS filming a promo spot or something, which was so cool for us since we are from Philly area. But they were both "working" basically, not like we just bumped into a celeb family on vacation, that would be so cool.

I've seen quite a few over the years.

One time I saw LeAnne Rymes on Big Thunder Mountain. They decided to take a second ride, so they just stayed in the train, but they accidently opened the gates anyway, so I could've got on if I wanted to. But I didn't realize it until after the train left.

I also saw John Stamos at Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland (he took the boat I was supposed to get on).

i couldnt imagine being a celebrity at wdw. i mean i know in their regular day life they get approached by fans and a lot of them are very nice, but in disney world i dont think i could do it! if i was a celebrity i would probably come across as a jerk because i would want to be enjoying the park and not responding to people! but then again im not a celebrity and never will be so who knows how i would act...

on a side note, did anyone see that episode of hogan knows best, where they went to islands of adventure but put on disguises, prostetics and everything, so that they wouldnt get bothered? it was kinda funny. after a while brooke couldnt take not being noticed and treated like a "normal person" so she abandoned her disguise. she had even stooped to asking people what they thought of that brooke hogan girl... most peoples response was "'eh... shes allright" i found that amusing.

I've wondered about being a celebrity at Disney World as well.

On one hand you would think they would be mobbed by fans, yet on the other hand, for me anyway, I'm always kind of surprised when I see a celebrity at the parks and it usually doesn't hit me that I saw that I actually saw them until later. So I wonder how much attention they get on average.

And yes, I saw that Hogan Knows Best episode. It was funny. :)

I don't know that I'd go to WDW if I were a celebrity

I would never expect acknowledgement from them and would sure as heck never approach them and expect anything, any more than I would any other person. And if they are trying to have time with family, for heaven's sake, leave them alone.

So does that mean celebs get to basically go on the rides by themselves, and don't have to stand in line and share their carts like the rest of us:brick:

Me personally, I am so wrapped up in the "disney" experience and navigating around the park making sure I get to see and do all that I can, I probably wouldn't even notice if a celeb was under my nose:rolleyes:

My favorite encounter

About 4 years ago we noticed a large group waiting on the exit dock at It's a Small World. The group was large enough that we had trouble getting onto the platform when getting out of our boat. The group then got onto the next two boats that offloaded.

I couldn't see who was in either of the boats before they disappeared into the ride so we waited near the line to see who it was when they came back around at the end of the ride. When the boats reappeared there, in the middle of the second boat wearing a royal purple velvet suit, was James Brown. This was a hot early May day but he looked so cool sitting in the middle of the boat, surrounded by his entourage, in his velvet suit. The picture I took is one of my favorites...
