Does anyone know whatever happened to the Disney Magazine??

I was an avid reader of the Disney Mag. I loved it...from the hidden Mickeys page to ask Dave, articles...everything. I was devastated when they stopped subscriptions. Now I have them in my classroom library and my students love them. Occasionally I strum through it to see past articles. Does anyone know why it's gone??

I wish they were still in publication too! I would love for them to make another Disney Magazine. I read my old copies every now and then and still enjoy them.

Hef bought it.

Looking forward to the new pictorial "Girls of Living With the Land." You may never look at pumpkins the same way again.

I use to get that mag..I remember how happy I use to be the days the new issues came.. but now I get the DVC magazine every so often so it helps a little !

Goodness, I loved that magazine. It's a shame they stopped it..and a shame that I cut up the copies I had for projects and scrapbooking. I really wish I had kept them!

they stopped publication due to the online information. They were declining in sales due to the net. they actully stopped it without warning I recieved a email and then a letter with a check to cover the rest of the subscription I would be losing. the monthly email updates from disney insider is basicaly the magazine now.

I had a choice of getting Disney Adventure magazine or Family magazine, I think it was called. Anyway, neither was worth the Disney magazine. I had discovered Disney magazine just about a year before and then renewed my subscription for 2 years and then they quit. Bummer

Well, I don't know if it was due to the internet, but I don't think they had a high readership. In my opinion, it was poorly marketed and I don't think a lot of people who would have enjoyed it even knew about it.

Same thing happened with the Disney Adventures magazine. It wasn't profitable anymore so they stopped publication.

Thanks for your inputs. I really loved reading the magazine. I, too, received a letter out of the blue telling me they'd transfer me to Family Fun or refund my money. I must have read the letter a hundred times in disbelief. I ordered Family Fun and actually enjoy it but really miss my Disney Magazine. I just ordered the Orlando Attraction magazine...hopefully this will stand up to the Disney one.:ROFLOL:

If I can still find my last issue I'll scan it. the internet and availbilty of info on the web was a big factor in the ending of the mag. it was somewhere in the editors notes or something like that

Is it worth $4.17 an issue? There website says you get 6 issues a year for $24.99.

I think it is well worth it. For me, it fills a gap in long-distance delivery of the magic. Orlando Attractions Magazine is well-done with excellent photography and layout. The publishers are fans of theme parks and it shows.

I actually know the founder of orlando attractions, what a great guy. His magazine is really worth the money, and it just started late last year too. I think ALL the fans of the old disney mag should convert to this magazine.
