Is Test Track too intense for a pregnant woman?

i don't think she should ride. in fact, on most rides i would ask the person running them. and listen to the warnings. like someone else said, when in doubt, don't. it's not worth it.

Test Track is my fav ride and I didn't ride it when I was pregnant. I was about 8 weeks along. It has excessively hard braking and it is very jerky at times. Its not like riding on a bumpy highway. I wouldn't ride it pregnant. I did ride the safari ride at AK. Its more like a bumpy highway and wasn't too bad. I had to stick with the kiddie rides and was fine. Also, if she is in her early stages, avoid Astroid Orbiter at MK too! Big mistake!!!

Lemme just say this: Ride if you must...but you were warned. Although you might think the ride is rather tame and it is in MHO. But just don't come back to Disney "if" you have issues or complications with your pregnancy and file a law suit like so many have tried in the past.

As a woman who has been through a pregnancy, I would skip it. Do I think it's too dangerous? Probably not, but you would never forgive yourselves even if something happened unrelated. :)

Take care!

If a pregnant woman can deal with a car ride on the highway or a bumpy road, then she will be able to handle test track. But that's just my opinion.

But I would bet most pregnant women would do their best to avoid dangerous speeds on bad roads with a lot of bumps and sudden stops possible, all of which occur on Test Track.

You would probably not have any problems if you do ride, especially if you just found out you are pregnant, but why risk it? Sure, you miss out on the fun on this trip but if the ride did something to the baby it would ruin TT for you for the rest of your life.

My wife, who was 4 1/2 months pregnant on our last trip, heeded the warnings on every ride except Safari. She had to brace herself with her arms for most of the trip to ease the strain on her abdomen. Were we to do it again she probably would've skipped it.

Temporary sacrifice and self-denial for the safety of your child is a good thing.

How about test track for someone with high blood pressure?? Id love to go on it but im just a little cautious about my high blood pressure. I have gone on rides like star tours and back to the future over at universal, was just wondering if this would be a good idea.

Um, I wouldn't.

Heed the warnings, people!! You don't want to be "that guy" that didn't and died on M:S and then people on wdwmagic make hundreds of posts about how stupid you were! :hammer:

My wife found out she was pregnant one week prior to our last trip. She did ride Splash Mtn. becuase it's her favorite ride and there were no problems, she avoided all of the other big rides though. The safari was fine but then again she was only a few weeks along.

I definitely agree to not take the chance of anything. There are still plenty of things to do and I am sure you will both end up having a great time.

Ride the TTA and Train at MK when she gets a little tired. See all of the shows and movies. Spend an hour or 2 at every country in Epcot etc...

These are all things that we never really did before but really ended up enjoying them.

Congratulations, and I hope you have a great trip!

I think that is a good question for your doctor. I think back to the posts about people dying on rides (morbid, I know) and the most recent news about the man who died three days after riding Space Mountain and I wonder if these people knew not to ride or just plain didn't know they had a health problem. If you know of a potential problem, like pregnancy or high blood pressure, then ask your doctor and follow their advice. Safe and simple.

We're heading down to epcot in a couple of weeks and we also just found out my wife is pregnant.

If I give you my phone number, will you call my wife and tell her that the pregnancy isn't stopping y'alls from going? As far as we know right now, she isn't pregnant, but she keeps telling me that if an "accident" happens she wouldn't be going down there. I keep telling her what nonsense, because there is so much else you could do down there even without some of the rides. Not to mention the fact that being down there while pregnant and not able to do as much beats being at work that week instead.

The warning signs are there for a reason. Why would you want to risk the pregnancy for a ride? I don't understand why people with high blood pressure and heart problems go on rides with signs that specifically tell them not to. That's how you DIE.

I take medicine for high blood pressure but I have ridden pretty much every ride there is to ride with one of those warning signs. Millions of people have been on those rides and I'm sure a high percentage of them have had high blood pressure either knowingly or unknowingly but very few have been seriously injured or killed. I wouldn't worry so much about riding with high blood pressure, they are required to put those signs up even when there is very little chance of an incident.

Pregnancy on the other hand is a different story and I wouldn't let any female I know ride any of the more intense rides. Maybe not test track so much because the movement isn't anything too out of the ordinary, it goes fast and makes a quick stop or 2 but we all do that.

I would say - no. The ride is not really intense, but there are lots of bumps and emergency stops, and even if it does no harm, it would be pretty uncomfortable when pregnant.

Have a great time anyway!

I was there when pregnant (early on), and I did go on Splash mountain, but apart from the drops, the ride is quite smooth. Test track is not smooth!

Congratulations :sohappy:

I think you should play it safe and skip it this trip. It is a little bumpy & jerky, better to be cautious. This sacrifice is really a miniscule one, you can't put a price on your wife or baby's health! And just think of all the future trips you'll have to look forward to with DS or DD. There's nothing like seeing the expression on your baby's face at Disney :sohappy:
