Cindy's Castle turning brown!

As you all know the castle repainting project is moving at a quick pace. Earlier this morning at track talk (like a pre-opening meeting for cast members), there was a brief discussion about the castle. The manager did inform us that there is some brownish paint being applied to the castle. That immediately got me thinking that WDW's castle is really getting the Tokyo castle's makeover, that happened in recent months, like I originally thought. If any of you haven't seen it yet, Joe's TDR site has some pics up at http://www.jtcent.com/disneyland/misc/msccic.html. Don't know if it's going to end up being as grand as theirs but nevertheless I did notice the brownish tint starting to appear at the back of the castle when I walked by. Don't have pics of it yet. That's the latest news over from Fantasyland.

hmm. I think I like the traditional light grey more. But, I'm torn. This new scheme looks more authentic and has more depth. The other looks more new and more "fantasy-like" (like a newly build castle) I guess. It's a tough call...

I wholeheartedly agree with the importation of the TDL model overall, though (or, perhaps more importantly, the TDL-OLC budgets without the American ramifications).

This is fantastic news - definitely my hope all along. Now all that's left is to hope that they don't cheap out and put the same attention to detail in that Tokyo got. Thanks for sharing Kev!

That looks like a lot of work to change WDW's castle to look like TDL's. I must say I do love the new look of the TDL castle, but with the busy holiday season starting in just a few weeks IMHO I do not believe that such a huge task would happen now. Maybe they are planning on just some sort of accent. I guess we will see.

I really wouldn't mind that very light-brown treatment to the castle. I think it adds a bit of realism to the castle. That said, I am completely against the turrets being painted that dark grey/black. The castle just looks ugly like that. Personally, I'd rather they just repaint the castle in its current colors. While I did say before the light-brown gave it a bit of realism, do you really want realism in a Fantasyland? And if we keep ours the "normal" colors, it'll be nice to have an actual difference between the two castles.

Just wanted to quote this... Maybe this will make wannab@dis happy.

I too like the change and hopefully it does come to WDW!
Actually, it just went on to prove my point. Apparently WDW needs "some more" Tokyo influence... Why?

By the way... I also like the Tokyo castle. I enjoyed the Castle cake for it's short run and, with the exception of the mirror, adored the HCOE changes.
