EPCOT Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

maybe, things have been looking better in what they have been doing and announcing since back then so thats a fair point.
Not really, It seems they are just shoving unrelated IP in Animal Kingdom now. Which was the last park that they have not ruined with the IP mandate.

Hot take, but after all this time, if we don’t get Dreamfinder in 4.0…..I don’t want it at all. 😬

I've always said that I don't think Figment really works without Dreamfinder, or at least some kind of Dreamfinder analogue -- it doesn't have to be Dreamfinder himself, although it seems silly not to use him if you're going to do something similar.

The original attraction would not have been remotely as good if it was just a Figment ride.

Well, with AC out of the way (for the immediate future), I’m a little confused why they’d announce something that seems perfect for a Destination announcement. Almost as if they’ve got 1 show stopper announcement in the cards, could Figment singlehandedly steal Destination?

I’m gonna keep my bet on 26’…
An Imagination redo is definitely part of the $60B lol. Both Inside Out and Figment are huge and would make for such a killer pavilion.

NO ‘Inside Out’ in the Imagination Pavilion needed.

The Pavilion already has a ‘brand’ and does NOT need yet another Pixar overlay on an existing Attraction.

We all know what it needs - an updated, new take on an imaginative journey with established characters that were specifically created for THIS experience….Figment and Dreamfinder.
No more Pixarfication …please.
Send that over to Wonders of Life or better yet, DHS.

Even if you try to make a current version of the Original JII classic Attraction, it was be idiotic to ignore the real elephant in the room - bringing back the dreamfinding duo should be a big part of that.

Whatever eventually happens, just for the love of all that is holy make it imaginative again for starters.
And for Walt’s sake have a healthy budget that is not wasted on fancy tile in the queue area, okay?

These ‘Inside Out’ associations with the place need be strapped into a wagon with Bing Bong and sent over a cliff.
Slapping on an unrelated IP that is not needed will not suddenly solve the problem.
We need something far more befitting.

Everybody loved test track 3.0, and NONE of that was up to anyone’s predictions! I think the imagination 4.0 we all want is something we don’t even KNOW we want.
And with how imagineering is as of late, and with test track, i trust imagineering to bring us a good NEW dreamfinder and figment adventure.
All they really need to do to please most people are:
  • Bring back Dreamfinder and revert Figment’s personality to that child-like wonder he had in JII 1
  • Restore the Dream Mobile scene - with modern tech it could really be a “WOW” moment
    • Alternatively, just have some sort of “WOW” moment with some crazy but reliable tech
  • Make the ride as long as the original- if they really want a post show interactive area, use the empty space upstairs or something. IIRC the original got you up into that space somehow
  • Practical sets
That’s it. People would be more than happy with anything as long as those four criteria points are met. It’s almost guaranteed to never be as good as the original so if they can just hit those points we’ll all be satisfied

With today's technology of lights, screens, 3d mapping - a modern take on Journey Into Imagination could really be an excellent attraction in a form of a new adventurous dark ride. Not as chaotic as Runaway Railway, but with an uptick in terms of adventure & maturity like the Dreamfinder/figment comic book series; mixed with Mystic Manor style route of fun. It's a no-brainer hit!
Personally I’d want them to keep Dreamfinder more in the vein of “whimsical Santa-like old guy” rather than the comic’s “steampunk tumblr sexyman”, but I do think something really heavy on tech effects would be what the ride needs. Use projection mapping to reinvent the color scene and get those colors to change even more clearly and accurately!

That started development in 2020, in peak
Chapek era, during imagineering furloughs and lake Nona. I think this is a different time, and a different imagineering.
Based on the slack leak, they didn’t start active development until around early 2022. A lot of the same people are still working for the company (though a lot of the props, figures, and landscaping for that ride was outsourced).

Journey into Bing Bong’s Imagination: Featuring a cameo by the same illustration of Figment Pixar has put in three films now!
Considering that he's not even mentioned in Inside Out 2, I doubt Bing Bong would even be in a hypothetical Inside Out retheme. It'd probably just be the Emotions, who have nothing to do with the imagination (and Joy's kind of annoying anyway).

As I have said Inside Out is the perfect vehicle to bring back Wonders Of Life. The fact that EPCOT management can't see that is mind-boggling.
I would highly disagree...Inside -Out is not necessary for the Imagination Pavilion to work again... It is not even necessary for it to be part of it whatsoever. They need to go back to the original idea and pavilion...get rid of the Imagination Institute...bring back Dreamfinder. Put a new Figment related show in the theater (check out the dragon show at Epic). Then perhaps add a couple beautifully designed flat rides around the outside of the pavilion and create a "Garden Of Imagination" area... Something beautiful, colorful and whimsical... Redress it all with a fantastic kinetic Steampunk aesthetic...A new show, the completely new Figment dark ride, 2-3 flat or similar small rides...It would be the Fantasyland of Epcot but in a best possible way.

"More timeless, more relevant, more family, more Disney"
The two IP's that immediately come to mind when I think of this quote for EPCOT is Inside Out and WALL-E..... BUT not in Imagination. Inside Out in Wonders of Life and WALL-E in the plot of land Mission:Space is in now. Would be absolute wins for EPCOT purists and casual Disney/Pixar fans.

Figment should be gutted and turned into a Mystic Manor-type trackless ride with Dreamfinder and Figment. All of this seems like such easy thinking to make that quote make sense for everyone.
