EPCOT Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

4. When Space Mountain will be refurbed.

I've seen this song and dance before. I'm not letting it skate by.
You know for someone who seems to hate everything Disney does and praise the ground Universal walks on, Disney sure tells him a lot! Wouldn’t be surprised if he also knows about the location of Walt’s Head or the new Inside Out themed land at Animal Kingdom

Oh. You're still posting in this thread.

Without answering the question about how you seem to know that the $60B (only $17B for WDW) includes an Imagination re-do.

Do you really have this info from someone at WDW who knows, or, are you just farming aura?
“Farming aura” is a great expression. I’m gonna use that with some middle school students.

It's shame they didn't leave the original sign in place, It wouldn't look that out of place with the scientific institute theme.
Def agree they should’ve kept the original sign outside ‘but’ I wouldn’t put it out of the realm of possibility that it and the original ride could absolutely return w the tech & spfx enhancements we’d like to see. I really don’t think it’d be that difficult, considering how much of the original building is retained, documentation, etc. within the Archives and elsewhere storage wise on WDW property I’m sure.

but what about science science science.....
That’s part of why I further feel the Honey I Shrunk IP-themed institute transformation plus the focus to make it more scientific wasn’t necessary. Like.. Science was presented flawlessly in the original, and like I’ve mentioned previously, there was a sensory funhouse in the Wonders of Life pavilion, so it’s a bit weird to me they’d decide to go that angle with it when they did.

Ron Schneider met an imagineer who worked on the 2nd version of the ride. He said that what went wrong was combination of budget constraints and company politics. Kodak wouldn't continue sponsorship if the ride wasn't changed. Disney was reluctant to spend serious money on the ride. Apparently Michael Eisner didn't like Figment and the older elements of EPCOT Center (Horizons). Once they changed it, it was too late...

The imaginer in question apologised to Ron as he knew how much the original ride meant to him personally.

Interestingly, Imagination is probably the only case in Epcot history where the sponsorship model literally failed to the rides detriment. Though there is an argument that Siemens did that to Spaceship Earth.

though a bit of a stretch, you could also argue that this happened with the transportation pavilion too (even though I don't think so).

Meh, World Of Motion was probably doomed anyway. Test Track has always been educational. (Though, the original version was Show Produced by Orrin Shively who also Show Produced JIYI) that aside GM is the only reason the attraction is not Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy, right now.

You might be right, the most postive thing from Siemens sponsorship was removing the wand from the SSE building.

The rest of ride got downgraded with the screens replacing the finale, and the dumbed down narration. I still enjoy the ride as it is, but the Jeremy Irons version was better.

Agree, and Siemens (and Disney both really) didn't even care to have the product finished, it was not meant to be just black curtains with the screens, all those triangle panels had a purpose but never utilized.
