It has been open recently, and was certainly open last week.

That’s good to hear. I was there June 25th and it blocked off with a trash can and the cast members said it had been closed for a month.

No shame in losing TSI, but it really is going to feel odd without the Riverboat sailing by.

I pretty much feel the same way. As much as I enjoy TSI, I’m way more hurt by losing the Liberty Belle. Love it more than TSI, and if I could only save 1 of the 2, it’d definitely be the RoA/Liberty Belle. They do more for the atmosphere than TSI, imo.

Such a stupid and shortsighted decision to remove possibly one of the most iconic pieces of the original park. Something like this can really never be replaced. The whole purpose of buying all the land in Florida was that there would be room to build new things without ripping out the old ones, which Walt always disliked about the Anaheim Disneyland being landlocked. There’s room to build everything that has been built at Disney World again on the land that they have and still have conservatory land left over. It’s troubling that Disney is making so many irreversible park decisions without having the best Imagineering team currently in place. The recent track record is less than stellar and certainly doesn’t live up to the destruction that they are causing at the parks. You’ve got to have a Joe Rohde or Tony Baxter-type at the helm to pull off these types of major changes. The current team in place should adopt the Hippocratic oath of “do no harm” instead of making these major transformations. They simply haven’t demonstrated that they have the skill or imagination required to make it great.

On our trip in May, my son found a few hidden mickey's (done with a paper punch) on some leaves he found over there. Pretty cool.
