MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

I like this idea. So it would be a second entrance in for an upscale resort like Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach do for EPCOT.
I think this would become the new premiere hotel... the upscaliest of upscale (along with the highest prices).

Think Fantasy Springs at TDL. Including a private entrance to MK. I personally would also make a secondary parking lot that annual pass holders can pay extra to access so they can skip the TTC.

But you said that’s what most of it looks like. And know you’re basing your entire opinion on assuming that plans will change for the worst and you’ll be left with nothing but concrete and cars? I get being cynically but don’t be ridiculous.

Not really. And the point is that they are more than capable of planting a mature setting.
And you’re basing yours entirely on concept art. Which if you look at past projects HAS changed. New Fantasyland changes from its original concept art. Pretty much all of Epcots reimagining changed from its original concept art. They literally couldn’t even put a small fountain in the center of world celebration but instead put a planter. It’s not ridiculous to assume that this one will change too and leave mostly concrete.

Give me one example of a recent project of that Disney has done well to give any confidence that they are capable of doing a project of this magnitude well. They are ripping out part of the soul of MK for an IP that does not fit the area (no matter how much mental gymnastics everyone does to try to make it so). I wouldn’t care nearly as much about this if it wasn't going in MK. But the stakes are so high, replacing pretty much the only part of the park that actually FEELS like a park. I am not confident they can do it justice and leave enough water in the area to make the loss of RoA less deep.

The salt dome exterior looks good and for the most part matches the (updated and cut) concept art.

Adventureland Treehouse also looks good.

a little smaller scale but Moana looks great too - although it doesn’t match Epcot

The problem with those though is they already existed and they were just doing a reimagining. This is literally ripping out what is already there and building something completely new.

I do like Journey of Water and actually think it fits well in Epcot and the concept of learning and discovery. It does actually feel like Epcot for me. But that is much smaller and the stakes for it were much lower than what this project is supposed to be.

Fantasy springs and the world of frozen at HKDL! I know it's not US parks... but the same team designed both.

I don't really see them building a Villain hotel. They don't theme hotels like that any more nor is there really a need even with it close to the land. Yacht Club, Beach Club, and BoardWalk were built next to World Showcase and have nothing to do with World Showcase.
My argument would be that in park hotels are big $$ and need to be themed to the land they are in. Beach club and board walk do well... but imagine if the had actually built the full scale the Château Laurier hotel in Canada that overlooks the lagoon and could watch the night show... They would charge so much more.

The MK hotels seem themed to match the various lands without being specifically themed to the IP/rides in them

So I could see a hotel that is themed to match the style/look of Villains land (so maybe like a bit gothic in appearance) but not really be a "Villains Hotel" that is like operated by Maleficent or something

In my opinion, todays Disney barely themes it’s hotels, not sure if they would spend the money.

It’s either going to be the Villians Mariott tower or a 3-day forced cosplay dungeon adventure where the Villians ask if you’ve ever heard of Mickey Mouse and do you know where Fantasmic is held?

There is no in-between. Which I think, is what people actually want.

After seeing Polynesian and Disneyland towers in person…. I have no hope.

Disney continues to build themed rooms and hotels - even if WDW has only really been building DVC resorts. The 'need' is to be able to drive revenue.. what screams $1000/night hotel rooms more than RIGHT AT THE PARK and tacky hotel room overlays?

The 2nd one sounds really fun.

The barrel bridge on TSI is closed again.

Today is my last day to go on the island and riverboat and that really hurt to see. That thing was fun when I was ten and it still was fun now.
