Nice! I think most people use the term loosely to describe a project that’s somewhere in those first 5 phases.
It is not appropriate to call it Blue Sky because it is not Blue Sky. Disney’s Feasibility phase and approval to move forward with rare exception happens after Concept Design. The phases of design are specifically named and referenced throughout the design process.
Give me a mimeograph and I can move the world!By the way…. Those slides remind me - I’m currently reading “Dream Chasing” by Bob Weis - which is fantastic. He mentions early on that Disneyland was built without Xerox machines and that even up to Tokyo Disneyland was built without computers.
Great read, one of my favorites from the Imagineer books along with Marty's.By the way…. Those slides remind me - I’m currently reading “Dream Chasing” by Bob Weis - which is fantastic. It’s amazing how far we have come with technology but just like with CGI vs. hand drawn animation - lots of charm gets lost when the human touch gets replaced with computers. While not specific to this expansion - it’s probably one of the reasons Tony, Kevin, and Joe’s projects felt so “right” - they started in that same generation that Bob W. did.
Yes, Galaxy's Edge, Pandora, and Tiana's certainly show Disney is still capable of producing very good enviroments.Say what you will about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (I certainly do), but the outside looks quite nice. I am confident that they can build something that fits the area and provides a lush, vibrant landscape.

So my questions is do we think they may end up using some of the 11 acre laydown yard as part of Villains land? I get that would mean going either under or over the rail tracks but it would allow for a seperation of Villains from MK almost like a mini park.I believe the majority of the prior Beyond Big Thunder proposal was looking towards the yet to be leveled 11 acre laydown yard. There very likely was a variety of proposals and some shortening of the ROA considered along with back stage utilization of Big Thunder. But that’s the roughly boundaries of the plot they were circling around back in 2022.

What I’m still not quite sure of and perhaps some more informed posters (@lazyboy97o ) might have some ideas… why exactly are they prepping so much lay down? It seems a bit excessive to me.
my guess is an in park hotel. So my questions is do we think they may end up using some of the 11 acre laydown yard as part of Villains land? I get that would mean going either under or over the rail tracks but it would allow for a seperation of Villains from MK almost like a mini park.

I like this idea. So it would be a second entrance in for an upscale resort like Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach do for EPCOT.my guess is an in park hotel.
I think this would become the new premiere hotel... the upscaliest of upscale (along with the highest prices).I like this idea. So it would be a second entrance in for an upscale resort like Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach do for EPCOT.
I think it’s more likely that it would just be the previously rumored ultra deluxe, not anything themed explicitly to Villains. It would probably have its own smaller themed entrance similar to International Gateway rather than a direct connection to the land.A villains-themed hotel? Would the rooms all be themed to cells in a dungeon or something?
