I feel like we ran through denial and anger in about two weeks and have been firmly in the "bargaining" stage (Pitching 18 different ways portions of the RoA can stay) since last year. I check on this thread maybe once a month and I always see the exact same posts with new doodles about how some area can be salvaged (it won't be)

I really don’t care what they do with the River, I’m just in for the fun what ifing. It’s better than the fighting that populated the first half of the thread.

that was posted almost a year ago, and since then we have learned that the Cars area will not be behind Big Thunder but to the side of it wiping out the waterfront of Frontierland/ Liberty Square... If only they were going to actually build it where shown in this old post leaving the ROA intact.....

I think it's already happen though. The diminished Old West themes, Tiana, Cars is just another nail in Fronterland's coffin. Jokes aside, googly eyes isn't going to fix that.

Nicely done.
There is nothing left to do when Disney makes these terrible, awful decisions but to joke about them.

Who knows, maybe it won’t be awful.

Frankly, all my faith, hope and trust is gone after I saw what they did in EPCOT.

I was admiring the views.

Still can’t believe this is being destroyed….for freakin’ Pixar vehicles.

I still think Diamond Horseshoe's interior would lend itself better to be converted into a more screen accurate Tiana's Palace given it has the balconies and stage for jazz performances. Yeah, you could build some of that stuff into the huge space that is Tall Tale, but I'm skeptical of them putting in that sort of effort.

That is very true...but they moved the timeline on the Tiana story...she no longer cares about having a restaurant...She leased it out to The Diamond Horseshoe....Now it is about a foods factory in a dirt pile that interests her .... and getting those crates of stale beignets down river...and finding insects and frogs to play music or something like that.... Oh and she no longer looks like the person in the film... um, yeah...

Our favorite spot to watch fireworks was in Frontier land on the edge of the river.

No crowds, more quiet, and the reflection of the fireworks off the river was beautiful.

Another necessary downgrade like Splash?

first of all to move it from California to Florida would be ridiculous, it could not be removed without completely destroying it, and this new addition is all about car parts, not Grizzlies.....unless "Grizzly" is a brand name for an air filter or hubcap...lol

I figured he/she meant pieces of the Grizzly Peak design might make their way into the exterior-facing portion of the area (e.g. the cascading dam along the trail), but perhaps I was reading it too charitably.

Honestly, some sort of Grizzly Peak clone (or at least a Grizzly River Run clone) would in my opinion be a better idea for a Frontierland expansion than Cars. I'm not sure how well it would actually FIT in Frontierland, but still...

Grizzly Peak and the rapids ride would have fit Frontierland worlds better than an anthropomorphic world of living automobiles with landscapes shaped like auto parts... It could have actually been a celebration of our national parks and the spirit of exploration and adventure....rather than another commercial for a Pixar IP that doesn't fit this park...
