Yeah they'll stick googly eyes on it and use it as an announcement for their new series - Boats! Here’s hoping they’re at least keeping the Liberty Belle docked.

Well with Cars area and Big Thunder as the only piece of Frontierland, Tiana makes literally no sense in it's current location either...they have added nothing to support that you are now in Louisiana...considering you just went by some old Western buildings...The Splash red clay rockwork blended a little better with the red rocks of Big Thunder... It is all just becoming a thematic mess...
Agreed. I’m hoping this is addressed with the cars attraction and not made worse. I think the artwork we’ve seen was somewhat rushed (with no details on the 2nd attraction that seems likely) - that’s why I still have a sliver of hope for the riverboat.
Even without the riverboat I hope they attempt to tie this all together somehow and not just plop some rocks down and say “look more stuff!”
TBA is set in a bayou backwater. It doesn’t really need a New Orleans corridor to support it, and that wouldn’t transition too well from Country Bears anyway. The Bears are already set in Tennessee, so I honestly think it’d be way easier to convert Pecos to a Hungry Bear equivalent to maintain a visual trip down the Mississippi that becomes progressively more rustic.2. Turn that waterfront (where Tall Tale Cafe) is into a New Orleans themed corridor that leads down to TBA. You could even leave a little bit of the former river up front, park the Liberty Belle there (maybe even turn it into a Tiana M&G location), and have rocks on the other side of the water/boat to act as a separation between that corridor and Cars.
I like that idea - let the bears take over that sections with the new “mountains” being the smoky mountains with waterfalls etc.The Bears are already set in Tennessee, so I honestly think it’d be way easier to convert Pecos to a Hungry Bear equivalent to maintain a visual trip down the Mississippi that becomes progressively more rustic.
And a lot of that will be just leveling TSI into the ditch that surrounds it.Which I get, but this is going to be major earth moving this time.
They can pull it out of the park, tow it to the shoreline of Bay Lake, pave a path to it, and open it as a lounge. That way people who are looking for Cars/Villains won't be bothered by the hulking shell of the steamboat as a former attraction.2 things - the scale of Cinderella castle is way off in my opinion - which is made worse by the tree massacare of the early 2000’s. Anaheim and Paris get the scale and design much better.
But back to the riverboat…. I trust that imagineers are talented enough to design something that would work for the riverboats scale. Since the “River” has always been much more narrow than the actual Mississippi- they can make it work if needed.
But it will likely get scrapped according to insiders - so best case it goes into private hands.
There are many options for the Liberty Belle. I’m quite certain there were designs that made it past blue sky that included her. They can pull it out of the park, tow it to the shoreline of Bay Lake, pave a path to it, and open it as a lounge. I love your armchair imagineering posts, but please use your abilities for good, not for evil! You almost had me convinced, and I had to snap out of it.Maybe they will put googly eyes on the mining equipment and train engines at Big Thunder and that could be a better fit for the Cars expansion... Maybe Mater will be towing ore cars out of a mine shaft...all with googly eyes.....Maybe change the stick of dynamite in the goat's mouth to a spark plug... add some new peaks shaped like an air filter or windshield wiper...it will be a perfect fit1!
Took a different approach with my armchair by first and foremost moving Tiana to Adventureland. But the other retconning and retooling felt more blasphemous than respectful of what came before it. How do you merge such dissonant themes? Does Disney even know? Frontierland is going to be a mess. I don't think it possible without a sacrifice here or there. If they were to give us some small concession, keeping even a sliver of ROA and the Riverboat would be most appreciated.Maybe they will put googly eyes on the mining equipment and train engines at Big Thunder and that could be a better fit for the Cars expansion... That was actually my point...Cars does not belong in Frontierland...But cars does fit perfectly at DHS...and without destroying an entire quadrant of the park...Took a different approach with my armchair by first and foremost moving Tiana to Adventureland. I think it's already happen though. The diminished Old West themes, Tiana, Cars is just another nail in Fronterland's coffin. Jokes aside, googly eyes isn't going to fix that. That was actually my point...Cars does not belong in Frontierland...But cars does fit perfectly at DHS...and without destroying an entire quadrant of the park...

That could work.
I thought a New Orleans Sq options would make more sense if you extended it down to Pirates of the Caribbean and had it sort of like at Disneyland - and then TBA is on the outskirts of New Orleans, but could still convert Pecos to a Tiana's restaurant for her downtown location
And they're making the wrong choice.I'm sure Disney is aware of all the ways they could be doing this differently to 'save' part of the river or a boat.
They're choosing not to do so.
That actually sounds like it would be kinda cool, and it's a bit ironic, considering I think the current ride is stuck in the mud.McQueen's Bayou Adventure!
I still think Diamond Horseshoe's interior would lend itself better to be converted into a more screen accurate Tiana's Palace given it has the balconies and stage for jazz performances. Yeah, you could build some of that stuff into the huge space that is Tall Tale, but I'm skeptical of them putting in that sort of effort.Of course this option would require them to completely redo the facades along the water front and turn Tall Tale Cafe officially into Tiana's Palace, and I just don't think they're willing to drop the cash on that even if it solves that entire area's thematic clashing.
