While we’re on the subject of graphic design, why do you suppose they went with a park logo that’s so underwhelming?
I don't think that is a subject we are on.

Those beautiful fountains are going to look like wading pools soonI’m just happy we are finally allowed to comment on the lack of shade now that it’s opening day and it (surprise!) wasn’t addressed.
Universal opens an entire new theme park.nah, people skipped out over to Disney when they saw it was a "good to go" day![]()
You mean a cease-incendio.They've declared a cease fire.
Universal opens an entire new theme park.
Disney makes it a "good to go" day for APers.
Also fair to consider that the "die hard" fans have already gone through much of the previews which will help keep lines pretty reasonable. I'd venture to guess that a huge portion of the guests at the park today already went during the previews and are mostly there for the bragging rights of being there opening day (along with the exclusive opening day events/entertainment and merch).
Universal must be satisfied with the attendance currently, otherwise they would have opened the option for pass holders to add on EU to their AP and/or started offering multi-day passes with park hopping privileges which include EU. Until that happens, every single person you see in the park paid $140-$200 just to go through the gate for that one day. I (personally) would hold out on making any judgements based on queue times alone until both APs can add on EU and EU is included with all multi-day tickets w/ park hopping.
FWIW, as of this posting, there is a digital queue (short, but still) to buy EU tickets which seems a very positive sign.
Our second day, I somehow forgot the mistakes of not bringing an umbrella in after the first day and ended up buying one. They really need to add an Epic Universe exclusive parasol to their merch offerings - complete with foam tipped ends so people aren't getting poked around you as you walk through the queue of Hiccup's Wing Gliders with it open.I’m just happy we are finally allowed to comment on the lack of shade now that it’s opening day and it (surprise!) wasn’t addressed.
You're right, Disney updated the video on Smugglers run AND made it a good to go day for APers. That's not the indictment you think it is.
What did the other Uni parks do today? Or Sea World?
Full is much higher than thatThey are throttling entrances and not up to capacity...
If thrill data is to be believed today's capacity is around 13,000.
This weekend it only ramps up to ~14,500 by Monday.
"full" capacity of 22,0000 starts July 1st
Seems like way too much of a setup to not have a nighttime show. Do I think it will be watered down of course but between the lighting, programming and soundtrack it seems pretty permanent to me.They have a pyro bunker for the possibility of future shows but unless it's the best kept secret, there is no fireworks outside tonight & tomorrow.
Which is going to be a long standing problem - not just opening day problem.Managers apparently considered it, but realized it was impossible due to the load in the line
Uni has an entirely new theme park just as busy. That in itself would be an achievement. And only Epic had such restrictions on attendance. That's not the indictment you think it is.

They have been friends for over 30 years. No need. The ET promise was made long ago.Do you think Spielberg still attends these events just to pull Woodbury to the side and whisper, “I’m afraid we don’t have much time so I’m gonna cut right to the chase. Don’t you dare take out E.T. He still needs our help to save his friends! Their planet is dying! E.T.’s counting on you and so am I.”
You can stop at the bold and know what will not happen.Good lord, imagine the response to Disney launching a park with a fireworks show narrated by Josh D'Amaro paying homage to corporate leadership and licensing partners.
Did the flying dragons get cut?
I thought I saw one at the Opening Moment?I was wondering this as well.
Assumed they would be specifically used for the Grand Opening daytime presentation, but nothing.
