While we’re on the subject of graphic design, why do you suppose they went with a park logo that’s so underwhelming?
It’s memorable without overshadowing the park’s IPs, versatile across a variety of media, and it scales cleanly across formats. Sounds like the logo is doing exactly what it’s meant to.

Battle at the Ministry has reopened at 3:07pm... currently posting a 180 min wait.

Around USO today things have picked up:
75 mins: Velocioaster and Hagrid's
60: Dudley Do-Right's
55: Meet Toothless and Escape from Gringotts
45: Popeye
40: Simpsons
35: Pteranodon and Hogwarts express kings cross

Also fair to consider that the "die hard" fans have already gone through much of the previews which will help keep lines pretty reasonable. I'd venture to guess that a huge portion of the guests at the park today already went during the previews and are mostly there for the bragging rights of being there opening day (along with the exclusive opening day events/entertainment and merch).

Universal must be satisfied with the attendance currently, otherwise they would have opened the option for pass holders to add on EU to their AP and/or started offering multi-day passes with park hopping privileges which include EU. Until that happens, every single person you see in the park paid $140-$200 just to go through the gate for that one day. I (personally) would hold out on making any judgements based on queue times alone until both APs can add on EU and EU is included with all multi-day tickets w/ park hopping.

FWIW, as of this posting, there is a digital queue (short, but still) to buy EU tickets which seems a very positive sign.

This is accurate. It was entirely under a control of Supply and Demand of priced tickets.

In the next weeks attendance will open up to more.

Battle becoming more reliable and them ditching virtiual queue helped open up more space for the park as well.

I’m just happy we are finally allowed to comment on the lack of shade now that it’s opening day and it (surprise!) wasn’t addressed.
Our second day, I somehow forgot the mistakes of not bringing an umbrella in after the first day and ended up buying one. They really need to add an Epic Universe exclusive parasol to their merch offerings - complete with foam tipped ends so people aren't getting poked around you as you walk through the queue of Hiccup's Wing Gliders with it open.

That's not the indictment you think it is.

What did the other Uni parks do today? Or Sea World?
You're right, Disney updated the video on Smugglers run AND made it a good to go day for APers. ;)

SeaWorld announced Hydro Surge, an electrifying cirque spectacular where the power of the ocean meets industrial grit. This high-energy show surges with breathtaking acrobatics, fierce dancers, live vocalists and a powerhouse drummer, whatever that is. ;)

But thank you as always being a fearless defender of TWDC ;)

Unless you just want to comment on my posts, that's still GREAT too! I enjoy the interaction. ;)

Yep. I've got mates working the ride who confirmed this was the situation. Managers apparently considered it, but realized it was impossible due to the load in the line. Feel sorry for those buggers who waited though.

On a side note, I must say I've seen some of the TM exclusive stuff on eBay. Puts Disney's recent CM exclusives (including pins, which are just gratuitous in most cases) to shame.

They have a pyro bunker for the possibility of future shows but unless it's the best kept secret, there is no fireworks outside tonight & tomorrow.
Seems like way too much of a setup to not have a nighttime show. Do I think it will be watered down of course but between the lighting, programming and soundtrack it seems pretty permanent to me.

Uni has an entirely new theme park just as busy. That in itself would be an achievement. And only Epic had such restrictions on attendance.
Don't forget near all guests at EPIC are PAYING guests. This is not a place people are using their APs and Employee entrance for them and their families for Memorial Day Weekend.

It will have over 22,000 capacity soon.

Do you think Spielberg still attends these events just to pull Woodbury to the side and whisper, “I’m afraid we don’t have much time so I’m gonna cut right to the chase. Don’t you dare take out E.T. He still needs our help to save his friends! Their planet is dying! E.T.’s counting on you and so am I.”
They have been friends for over 30 years. No need. The ET promise was made long ago.
