Battle at the Ministry has been reprogrammed to remove the drop. It’s now a slow, gradual decline.

Flashbacks to The Cat in the Hat Ride removing the ability for vehicles to spin

I’m guessing the change was made to increase the reliability of the ride system.
“Sources” are saying the extensive downtime for BoM was due in part to “tush push” safety sensors shutting down the ride when riders butts lifted off the seats during the big drop. This removal/nerf to the ride seems to have significantly helped its reliability on day 2. I’m sure they’re working on a long term solution to bring the big drop back online. Who could have expected riders tushes to not cooperate properly for the good of us all. 😎🤦‍♂️

If true, thats an unbelievable oversight. You'd imagine ride engineers would think of physics when designing rides

🤔 You commented that Disney would never launch a new park with a firework show. Now you're comparing Mark Woodbury to Walt Disney.

I'm confused.

No I was replying to the post facetiously that it can't be shocking of a sentiment to imagine if Disney had opened a park that had fireworks with company leaders and creative producers of major entertainment and their partnerships with the company.

Literally all of WALT Disney World is based on this tribute. They put Walt on things that have little to nothing to do with him all the time. Much content now is stuff based on things the company aquired decades after Walt died.

It was not like the opening at EPIC was in any sort of bad taste.

People are just reaching for complaints.

The complaint made no sense as nearly every major night time show or opening ceremony features a tribute to the long dead founder.
If an executive paying tribute to corporate leadership and licensing partners at the start of the fireworks show sounds the same to you as Disney including tributes to Walt Disney in their shows, that's all ok.

My point was merely that I imagine Disney would be crucified on here if they did that exact same thing as Universal just did. I am sure, however, you personally would refrain from making any snide remarks about Josh D'Amaro and Disney corporate leadership were that to happen. Still, it is one of those things where I do wonder whether I am the only one who thinks "but isn't this exactly the kind of thing everyone around here hates?"

Is it though? Does this sentiment only apply to current corporate leadership? Because a massive chunk of Disney's fan community basically worships the company's founder, and Disney is all too happy to indulge them, over 50 years after his death. While Universal doesn't have a single, overwhelmingly influential figure that it can rally everyone around so easily, I don't think it's all that unreasonable to thank those entities responsible for ensuring the park's coming to fruition.

Who literally worships Walt Disney? There are people who respect him greatly for his artistic achievements. But that’s not the same thing as worship. No one makes sacrifices in his name or preachs about people being forced to roam original California Adventure when they die if they don’t behave a certain way.

It's more like 'variations' that happen in the real world.. not 'oversight'. Like issues with guests whose seat restraint isn't tight anymore because they shifted how they were sitting.. or where the restraint was.. etc.

Which is why the ride didn't estop on EVERY guest.. but when the guest conditions were unexpected from the intended.
