For those worried about Rachel Zegler's future movie prospects she has already lined up her next role co-starring alongside Marisa Tomei -

How can that be??? A few of the movie experts on here said that her career was over and that she wouldn't work again???
I'm going to take a wild guess here, and say that Jeremy from Geeks and Gamers YT channel has already seen this movie, walked out of the theater, and has made 10+ new videos talking about how it's woke trash.

Oh... what's that? They haven't started production of her new movie yet? Well I can 100% guarantee you it's his least favorite movie of (insert year it's released here).

In all fairness very few actors can lead a blockbuster that costs over $200M and has broad appeal. Its the reason why you see the same actors over and over in these movies. And even then not all are successful 100% of the time.
Zegler has proven to be divisive. I say that as a fan of her acting who wants her to succeed. I think she can still continue to be true to herself and what she believes in and still have a good career, I just don't think the Disney machine is the right fit for her. I think A24-type films or an HBO prestige drama is more likely where she will thrive.

Well remember that Disney has its own studio just for those type of films, Searchlight. So she still can be in the "Disney" machine and still make those type of movies if that is what both parties choose to do.

But beyond that I highly doubt she will be limited to just indy/low budget fair the rest of her career. She'll be in a blockbuster again even if its part of an ensemble cast, she is too talented not to. I mean Snow White isn't even out of theaters yet, so she already beat out the odds the "experts" here set who claimed she'd never book a movie again or at least for a very long time.

BTW, in case anyone was tracking, Snow White crossed the $200M WW total today -

She is the current Jane Fonda, no more, no less.

Correct me if I’m wrong (since I had to Google it) but doesn’t “being shopped” mean they have a script and are trying to find someone to bankroll it?

Until a studio, production company, or financial backer decides it’s worth risking their money on the movie it’s just an idea.

Being shopped typically (at least as I'm aware) means they are looking for a distribution partner. There are at least two production companies already attached, so I believe that means they already have most if not all financing. Just need someone to distribute it.

They sounds a lot closer to happening than my Google search did.

Seems like every time I turn on ESPN this week (for hockey) they are talking about Shedeur Sanders, everyone seems to agree he has talent and potential but his off the field issues are harming his career options… I think Zegler is the Shedeur of the acting world, if she can get her public image problems resolved I think she’ll be fine, if she can’t though, and another movie of hers has offscreen issues, I don’t think any level of talent is going to salvage her career.

The Variety article has 3311 and Seven Elephants attached as production companies, they are both known for producing indy movies.

So its clear this is moving forward. So whether its gets only a small release, a wide release, or even goes to streaming I expect it'll get made.

I understand the point and comparison you're trying to make, but pro athletes are different, they have a fairly short career as it is and so any hit on or off the field will affect their career.

There have been many actors that have had issues off-screen and still have a long career that spans many decades. I think its a bit too early to start the "her career can't be salvages if she doesn't ...." talk. Which was the whole point of posting the article about her next project. Its clear she is still able to book jobs so soon after the issues she has faced, I mean Snow is literally still in theaters. Which shows that her career isn't in dire straits as many claimed around here.

…for now.

…for now.

First: she said what I’m guessing most actors think.

Second: no one will remember this in 10 years.

Third: as the popularity of her target continues to wane, her comments will hit differently.
Fourth: Zegler’s comments are not an a concern among the average person…. She is not Kevin Spacey or R Kelly….there are more pressing Issues these days…. I know the only place I ever see Zegler’s opinions talked about in real life is in this little internet bubble

I don't get it (I do, but I don't).

Thunderbolts* actually appears to be good now, so what exactly are we hoping is achieved if it does poorly? Clearly there remains an appetite for everything they do to bomb out of a few posters.
It’s indicative of the state of the brand…that’s all.

If it’s a decent movie…it will do fine.

If it’s not…it won’t be accepted. It’s kinda where their franchises are…

I still say stitch will crush though…however

I agree that Stitch will be this summers big hit, or the next big hit since Minecraft was already a big hit, but among my friends Thunderbolts has pretty good buzz already, I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up in the $700 million range.

I’m getting a Guardians vibe from the trailers and that type of comedy superhero mix has done well for the MCU in the past.

We’ll see in a couple weeks, it will be nice to have something new from Disney to talk about.
