I don't want to go down a rabbit hole (he he) but I understood the argument why it needed to be re-themed. Moving on, they were so desirous to wipe Splash from our consciousness ASAP that they didn't put any thought into a replacement with just as an engaging story. PATF, for example, with Facillier. So, yeah. Is there any imagining left with Disney's Imagineers?

Well someone announced that WDW had the worst Frontierland for some reason… that sparked the debate.

Everyone on here has claimed that Disney World has the worst version of every land and attraction at one point, haven't they?

It being Cars is not a hang up for me in the slightest.
Matter of fact, I would have welcomed the real Cars behind Big Thunder, or at Hollywood Studios.
The destruction of Rivers of America is the most disgusting, clueless, and unforgivable thing that Disney could do in my opinion this side of taking down the castle.

Some might argue with your standpoint saying oh it's not the original, Disneyland is, but pay attention people original OG things of WDW aren't cared about or is it the thumb that it doesn't have to matter at Walt Disney World. Look at Muppets 3D/Courtyard and The Great Movie Ride without updating or editing changing scenes!

mk frontierland stinks because it’s a boring corridor with pecos bills, a bad river view, and a very obnoxious dead end. it’s telling that the two e-tickets are brushed away to the side, away from the actual core of the land

Just like Hollywood Studios has a dead end on Sunset Blvd or Hollywood Blvd at California Adventure so how terrible is it that those haven't got the fix in all the two park's existence?

Sunset Boulevard didn't originally exist. It came into being five or so years after the park opened, and Tower of Terror was its only attraction. Fantasmic and RNRC came another half decade after that. It should be fixed by looping the Tower/RNRC area to Animation Courtyard whenever they get around to redoing it, but they continue to ignore it.

You realize that the proposed update makes the corridor effect even more pronounced, yes? The entire Cars area is insulated from existing Frontierland and only visually "opens" toward the back where the connection to Villains will be.

Which makes even less sense, as far as “fitting in” to the majority of the surroundings.

I think it makes more sense than the alternative? It's an acknowledgement that, while some of the proposed terrain can work thematically with the rest of Frontierland (e.g. the rockwork, the streams, the trees, the geysers, the lodge-like structures), the actual content cannot as the cars themselves are completely anachronistic. That is not to say it is well-designed, better than the river, or whatever, but thought was given to the surroundings. While they should've just picked something that worked without hiding it, I prefer this approach to what others proposed with a Radiator Springs copy that would have been fully exposed to other parts of the existing land.

I'm confused. I thought you were talking about it fitting with Frontierland. We don't know how Villains is oriented (or even what it contains), but the art for now makes it look like Cars is mostly sheltered from both Villains and the rest of Frontierland. There's only one path into Cars from the north, which sits offset from what is presumably the path into the Villains area, otherwise obfuscated on both sides by trees. I would assume you won't have much of a view in either direction, with Frontierland and Villains having a pretty clear-cut portal between them.

Don't be sorry for us. I've got faith that when its all said and done this will be good for Magic Kingdom. The worst Frontierland in the world has been in dire need of attention and upgrading for my entire lifetime.

So what if later The worst Cars Land in the world will not be good enough for Magic Kingdom. Soon you'll say it's in dire need of attention and upgrading because it doesn't meet the exceptional standards and emerson as the original Cars Land. Frontierland same format as Disneyland wasn't built at WDW then to be the worst, how it got built, was how it got built.

Presumably, one is supposed to interpret it as the Appalachians from certain locations and the Rockies from others, just as the Rivers of America could be interpreted as Anyriver, USA. You could also always see Big Thunder from "incorrect" locations.

You're still going to see and/or hear cars from Frontierland. The tallest point on the ride is a piston-shaped rock. That makes no sense.

So is the new replacement show for inside Muppets 3D theatre to be sold in LLs? What worth show would that be because if it's only the Door Coaster then no reason Muppets 3D can't stay even if it's separate to Monstropolis.

First sentence is a definitive statement with no real proof. I'm not saying it won't happen, but the artwork makes it seems like they're trying to not have that happen. Their success in doing so is another story entirely. As for Piston Peak, it also depends on which artwork they follow and how naturalistic they go. Yes, the cartoonier artwork makes it look pretty ill-fitting, but the overpainted version could easily be a formation at McAfee's or somewhere similar.

A Radiator Spring's copy to us was in the distance behind Big Thunder Mountain with the rockwork identical in color Cars exposed in the back, BTM trains in front so that both don't clash in view together. The only thing that would work where the current cars plot is is the town streets of Radiator Spring's and the attraction much further back where BTM is in distance in order to make it work with everything.

As someone who is most likely never returning to WDW, threads like this about changes that were part of my decision not to return is like overhearing friends talk about an ex-girlfriend of mine who I broke up with because she started turning into someone I didn't want to be with-interesting, a little sad, but with no emotional connection anymore. And, using the same analogy, anyone who is interested in my ex, or even in love with her - I'm done with her, she's all yours .
Edit: I'd also like to add that most people will either have the hots for my ex whatever she does and simp for her 24/7, or they won't ever find her attractive again and hate everything she does with her hair and makeup

That’s the big problem with all of these expansions- they are replacing just for Bobs ego I think. Nothing else makes sense.
