About a month ago he appeared at a fan convention and I got curious about what he’s been up to and read an interview where he said he would be interested in working with the muppets again.
Even if they just brought back Rizzo for a couple of scenes to test the waters it would be a step in the right direction.
Gonzo and Rizzo (David and Steve) had the best back and forth other than Jim and Frank in my opinion.

By the way I wrote that confusing - for non muppets fans.
I was saying that David and Steve interacting as Gonzo and Rizzo were the best duo outside of the classic Jim and Frank duos (Kermit and fozzie, Kermit and piggy, Burt and Ernie, etc.)

I grew up on The Muppet Movie. I love The Great Muppet Caper almost as much. The Muppets Take Manhattan never really did it for me.

Here's the thing. I don't watch a ton of Muppets. BUT, they feel like such a great fit for the parks. It's almost like IP doesn't matter for them to me as far as me being a die hard fan, it's just fun. I don't watch the movies really (outside of Haunted Mansion), and never really watched the shows a lot. But I know the characters, and I enjoy the Muppetvision show.

I do think Kermit is one of the most recognizable IP’s in the world. I’m not sure how you gauge that but he’s got to be up there.
This is because as you said, they fit the goal of the emotions the park is evoking. They belong there.
They are a blend of in the movies/property and still a touch about making them. It was a beautiful design to send up the novelty of 3D while having some features in it. The entire show satires the 3D novelty of being in your face while being in your face about it.
You can't be. After the original Muppets film it is my favorite and most watched. And Phil, Gil and Lil from marketed it well. ;-)

Treasure Island was one of those movies on constant repeat at my house when I was a kid.
