So a YouTuber had already put together a side by side comparison video. It’s shocking how big of a downgrade Tiana’s is when seen side by side.

I would say 1/10 comments in the video are positive and even those use words like “fine” or “looks like it could be fun”.

This is a massive failure for TWDC.

Do we have any insider info on why imagineering is so dysfunctional ?

Am I suppose to believe that during this entire process no one spoke up and was like “Hey maybe we should build a little bit of tension for the ride with a 53 foot drop.”
Exactly. For the amount of hype, this is a flop, at least by my estimation. Will it be a fun ride and way to cool off, sure. But not as fantastic as they’re making it out to be, by far.

And it definitely needs some tension / excitement before the drop.

They won't want this because the movie flopped in Japan, and they've pretty much refused to deal with it since then.
This was the primary reason cited before today. And yeah, it's true. But now they also won't want it because they play it smart and can see this would be a lackluster inclusion. Especially compared to what they've been doing recently.

Wow, really exited to experience this for myself! Splash holds a special place in my heart, but it was really showing its age toward the end. Hopefully the audio and music sound better in person 😬 Based on the POV, it sounded like it needed to be turned up a bit.

Not impressed at all.

I'm not American, in my country SotS was never a problem. It was easy to find in videoclubs in the 80s and.90s. I watched it tons of times when I was a kid. I loved its iconic music and I loved the 3 Splash Mts with its "Tex Avery's feeling". I think they should just upgrade and fix the American Splashs.Mt and forget the absurd controversial, and make a proper unique ride for Princess & The Frog. I consider the retheme a total.mistake.

I really hope the Tokyo Version lasted forever.

I actually think current imagineers could have done something incredible here, but it’s very clear that there were too many cooks in the kitchen (pun intended). It feels like the HR department was making story decisions to avoid even the slightest chance of controversy. Like would anyone have really cared if Tiana’s company wasn’t employee owned?

Can we stop and talk about how absolutely unprecedented and strange it is that Disney Parks uploaded a ride POV? Let alone of a ride that hasn't opened? Like it's all so odd. Why?

I thought it was LMG Vids or something in my YouTube feed at first.
It's so amateurish too. I've seen so many breathtaking ride-throughs on YouTube. Not even talking about the professionally edited ones. And when you do get into that category this is competing with the kind of stuff MartinVids does, and I mean it's not even close.

And to upload it so suddenly too. I'm puzzled.

This is how Disney unveils their new ride?

I love it. I agree that splash might have been a  tiny bit better, but I absolutely love it. Stunning lighting, the screens look to blend in well, the story is understandable to me, and the music is great. I love it. Granted, MMRR is also one of my favorite rides on earth, and I enjoy FEA, so take my opinion with a grain of salt

That gives perspective of how forgiving and enjoying of "recent" additions you are under company's current leadership.

And you still think the former attraction in same dynamics and space may have been a tiny bit better.

That is not what 30 years and many millions in overhaul should be doing.

The limited movements in animation of the supporting characters and the lulls in the dark between these scenes really show how this thing fell short.

So many characters are just rocking back and forth.

And so much darkness between scenes that once had more lighting and kinetic energy.
DANG.

No
You can go and compare it with other videos they post. Most of the other prior TBA related videos on Disney's youtube accounts have much more favorable ratings with a lower dislike count. This one is uniquely skewed to having a large dislike count. I didn't expect it to be so negative, but even quite a lot of formerly optimistic people on this forum are now turning on the retheme after seeing it in full. This sentiment may not just be exclusive to this forum or negative breeding grounds like Twitter. We'll see, should be an interesting summer.

It's not Starcruiser video bad at least. Not yet anyway. Dislikes are rapidly catching up to the likes now though. Now it's 3.7K likes and 3.2K dislikes.

Well I guess according to this and a lot of the posts on these boards I'm in the minority in actually liking this. Okay. 🤷‍♂️

They wanted to beat the incessant YouTubers / vloggers IMO, which to me makes sense, as it has gotten very over saturated and they do tend to ruin the experience for others.

The POV release itself is so odd, and a conversation seperate altogether.

What is going on?

Was this an attempt to put the fanatics who were going to try and show up expecting a standby or still put thousands who are ok not trying to book a virtual queue every morning at bay for a bit until they let the larger revenue-based guests ride?
