Tiana’s Bayou Adventure: sponsored by Pepto BismolI did not expect Tiana to be dropping logs this soon!
Things that have brought people, sometimes generations of people and families great pleasure do matter.I just don't understand why anyone would be so obsessed with a ride or so hateful of it they make it their whole personality. It's a theme park ride. It's literally the least important thing in the world. It's a boat ride. What's it matter whether it's an older, controversial theme, or a new one? It doesn't matter
Now can we please get back to the topic of this thread - construction? There's a different thread for debate about whether the retheme is good or not. I don't want to keep seeing notifications about new details and construction updates and instead come back to arguments and name-calling... come on, guys...
I think Lifeformations may have had a hand in building some of the background characters. They did on BaTB alongside Pan at ShanghaiShe was almost certainly built by WDI, they typically do their own marquee figures. But I'll ask around to try and confirm.
I find it more attractive as well. Can I say something really silly?
I think I prefer Tiana’s![]()
I feel like the same thing was said about ToT>Guardians at DCA. I've definitely heard a lot of people say they prefer Guardians. Not saying Tiana will be better than splash... but we certainly don't know that yet. This is true, however, it will assuredly be a turd when compared to Splash Mountain. There is zero possibility of the WDI of today beating it.
Some people knew that the moment it was announced. It’s kind of like how, if someone says they are making a cheesecake but they don’t have to turn the oven on to do so, I know it will be a weak facsimile of the real deal. Now, I’m not prejudging Bayou Adventure like I prejudge no-bake cheesecake, but I can mentally wrap my mind around the fact that some have.I feel like the same thing was said about ToT>Guardians at DCA. Yeah, way too early to tell. However, this has all the makings of a decent attraction at least judging by what they are telling us.I feel like the same thing was said about ToT>Guardians at DCA. I'll be honest, I don't get the comparison... You had a log flume ride based on song of the south and are getting a log flume ride based on princess and the frog. What's the equivalent of the "no bake" step/feature that splash had that we know Tiana's wont? Some people knew that the moment it was announced. Because it doesn’t make sense. One’s preference for a particular kind of cheesecake (I like unbaked myself) is based on having actually tried both varieties. Obviously that can’t apply to Splash vs. Bayou before the latter has yet opened.I'll be honest, I don't get the comparison...

There was a set of atmospherical “beats” Splash hit that made it feel super satisfying. Peaceful and serene, to delirium, to ominous tension, and finally to triumph. It’s possible Tiana can hit some of these, but knowing what we know, I feel the lack of “conflict” and the nighttime swampy atmosphere will make it feel like a completely different attraction.I'll be honest, I don't get the comparison... I don’t doubt I it’ll feel different. The comparison of guardians vs ToT is a good one I think. One version of that ride was all about emphasizing the fear and danger, the other is now about carefree fun and laughter. It’s the exact same experience with a different presentation to it. I’m thinking Tiana’s will do something similar in regards to changing the feel of the same ride, but that’s all conjecture at this point. And of course whether that change in feel is good or bad will always be a matter of opinionThere was a set of atmospherical “beats” Splash hit that made it feel super satisfying. I’m posting here as someone who will also miss Splash Mountain and feel its loss deeply. You don’t need to explain that concept to me.That is true. But, another part of the analogy is that you are throwing away the baked cheesecake and not allowing anyone to have it ever again. Unbaked cheesecake may be legitimately great. But, the choice to exchange one for the other involves loss. And that loss feels unnecessary (if not worse) to many. I think that's an important part of this equation as well.
You can say change is inevitable all day long, but it plays a different role in a place literally built around and pushing nostalgia.
