Agreed. From the front, the column is kind of chunky, but the light grey strip down the middle helps diffuse that a bit. And the side view actually looks great. The curved design is very sleek.Looks great!
It's cool to see how the angles of the cladding, along with the graphics can reduce the visual mass of the support, even though they actually add to it dimensionally.
Automotive designers use tricks like this to reduce visual mass.
The Ford electric "Mustang" Mach-E uses tricks like this in the roofline and rocker panels.
Rookie move on my part, I thought they were installations not activations. It will never happen again.about as good as daytime activations!
Still not finished. Why is it a few inches too short? I hope they plan to do something to hide the top part.
The bottom looks better than I expected, the flair helps a lot, hopefully whatever they have planned for the connection with the ships has a similar effect.Looks great!

I mean, I think the design is supposed to be a continuation of the look and feel of the pavilion itself rather than something that specifically meshes with this ship, which may contribute to that feeling. My impression since seeing the new concept art has been that this is supposed to be disguised as a generic dock for small Xandarian spacecraft rather than a purpose-built display stand for a Star Blaster. It still looks awful to me - as though someone jammed two incompatible model kits together.
It clearly doesn't meet the standards of the structural engineers unfortunately.MIght be some pixie dust in my eye, but I'm not seeing a problem here.

That imaginary ship has to look absolutely realistic, and ignore Newton's laws, if possible.
Why don’t you explain to us how things that already exist ignore Newton’s Laws? How did Kittinger Park in Orlando get around Newton? It clearly doesn't meet the standards of the structural engineers unfortunately.

All anyone has said is that they could have designed a better stand that didn't overwhelm the ship and completely block the lower fin. It would have been pretty easy to do.
It wasn’t going to get more slender. It's fair, but people around here were complaining before the final product was done. Shoot, it's still not done.
Universal could make it levitate. It clearly doesn't meet the standards of the structural engineers unfortunately.
