Zootopia characters confirmed

I don't see any sort of "Zootopia" land in any of the parks BUT Animal Kingdom. It's the perfect movie to represent the park and the world that we should be living ... not that it actually belongs there, so that's where it will go when it happens 20 years from now. No not just Animals = Animal Kingdom. But do you see a land or ride going anywhere else?

Oh, I agree that if/when Zootopia is added to the parks in a substantial manner, that it will be added to DAK. That seems to be the inclination of those in charge. But it shouldn't go there and would fit much better in a dedicated land in DHS (or part of some greater Animation area).

Which is strange.. because WDW usually adds M&G's pretty fast ("attraction" wise).
Oddly enough this isn't the first time its happened. As a matter of fact Joy & Sadness from Inside Out meet at HKDL for the summer before coming to Epcot in April, about 10 months after the movie came out here in the US. Unfortunately, Joy & Sadness do not meet anywhere else as of now.

Its the only area where they have space to build the "train" between bunny burrow and zootopia, dont they?

I thought the exact same thing. That would be a really brilliant entrance to a new land. Although the concerns I've been having with the rumor are: A) it doesn't exactly fit in line with the the thesis of the park B) making a visible Zootopia train ride through Harambe Market would break that awesome effect. That being said, I'd love to see Zootopia appropriately implemented in the parks!

Tokyo or Paris comes to mind.

I think they definitely have a right to be featured in WDW. I'm cautious about them being in Animal Kingdom, but if they won't put them in the Studios then I will hope they do it right at DAK.
I think another reason why the two are taking so long to be meetable at WDW might be how difficult they must have to decide for which park the two would fit perfectly the most between AK and HS.

Both were meetable at AK during a special showing of the film last February (Which I think was there first appearance at the parks) for a special event dedicated to the film a month before it's release. But that was a special event however.

They were also spotted at a DVC exclusive event during a dance party last September which was also at AK.

FYI, they will be meetable in Epcot pretty soon, per @dcharacternews on Twitter, and various chatter I've seen and heard.

And I can state another reason why it took so long. Let's call a spade a spade, it was because of two more reasons:
  1. Their popularity was somewhat like Anna and Elsa's popularity during the so-called Frozen Fever, which brought chaos to the parks like no tomorrow, and if they were meeting, heavy crowds will incur and chaos would ensue at rope drop. Bear in mind, Anna & Elsa's wait times were VERY high (up to 6 hours at one point when they were meeting in Epcot in 2013-2014), so that I believe Disney had learned its lesson the hard way.
  2. Add on the South American Tour Groups/Pop Warner & Cheer Crowds, and you would've been adding fuel to the fire and make matters worse. Thanks Brazil, we love you (NOT)!

I still think the duo being at Epcot seems a bit out of place. Sure people can say Judy and Nick at AK while also out of place kinda of makes sense in some way even if they are anthropomorphic compared to actual animals at the park at least it makes a bit of sense.

I guess this unfortunately means newer characters from future Disney films will have to be meetable at Epcot for now on (I regret saying those words) if they aren't enough room at HS (Which is where newer Disney characters were usually found at years before showing up at MK such as Woody and Buzz in the 90's).

Honestly? I think they're afraid of The Furries coming out in force to meet them, particularly that frightening subset that has no problem with... adult material.

Um, Moana meets currently in HWS. Some characters aren't seen in the parks anymore (i.e. Vanelope and Ralph, Carl, Hiro) expect during special events.

If it hasn't been a problem for the last 60+ years with every other fur suit characters it's not going to be a problem now. Quick reminder that Judy and Nick are doing greets at DCA just fine.

It's funny because I don't remember hearing that when the Robin Hood characters were spotted at the parks occasionally these days which was a gate way to alot of furries who grew up in the 70's and 80's
