It's funny how those little bottles of shampoo, soaps and shower caps, etc. have a way of accidentally falling into your suitcase.:animwink: How big is your collection?

My wife is always accidential dropping the toiletries into the suitcase on a daily basis through out our stay. She also seem to place the floor mats in her bag thinking that they were ours. Well atleast i have a closet full of toiletries and my floor in my bathrooms are alway nice and dry due to all of our floor mats.

Over the past 9 years, we've collected about 2 dozen bottles of shampoo and bars of soap, however Mousekeeping once told us that they were for guests to take as souvenirs and that we should feel free to take them home...that's why they replace them during your stay. My husband laughs because once we get them home I won't let anyone use them! :p

The shampoos are usually gone within 4 months of the trip, the soap takes longer since we always seem to have more of that left over. When someone is having a out-of-sorts day at my house, I put out the Disney toiletries for bath time. Usually all it takes is a little bit of left over Disney magic to help wash the crabbies away.

Sorry to be the nag or voice of reason here......I see taking the soap and shampoo......But we wonder why it cost $400 a night to stay at a nice resort......We are paying for new bathmats and towels!!!!

We just finished up the last soap from our trip 2 years ago. I would put it out as a treat for the kids. Good thing I am going back on Saturday to build back up my collection.

One question the bath mats do they have mickey on them?

I was cleaning out my suitcase for my trip in 10 days and found some soap and lotion. I was very happy since I love the soap. My husband is not allowed to use it, though. I will definitely collect some more bars really soon. It's amazing how many people love the soap. It smells so good and is a great reminder of your vacation as your get ready for another boring day at the old job.

I still have the toiletries from our Honeymoon in 1989 at the Disney Inn. So they are definitely collectors items. I also have the Disney Inn note paper that was in the desk.

I too have lots of soaps, lotions, shampoo and the occasional toilet paper from the Disney hotels. When the Grand Floridian first opened, the bottles were very decorative. I haven't stayed there since then, so I don't know if they're still like that or not.

For anyone wanting to get rid of their toiletries, the allearsnet web site mentions a lady that boxes them up and gives them along with other Disney goodies, to children's hospitals. The lady doing the project said she currently has enough toiletries, but could use other stuff. And it's also a great idea for children's hospitals where you live.

I was pretty happy to be leaving the Mickey soap and shampoo... I haven't had zits like that since I was about 16 years old (a looong time ago!) My wife swears the shampoo lightened her hair, too. Maybe Miss Clairol isn't a Mickey fan?
