Umm....you're right! It's morbid....and silly.

What ever inspired you to make THIS your first post on a WDW family message board???

:veryconfu

:brick:

It's not silly. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Did your first post have inspiration to enlighten the masses, or was it similar to this a hypothetical situation. (ie If you could build any ride....). Remember if we all thought alike there would be no need for this discussion forum...

Come on leave the poster alone. It's a legit question. What would you do to pay final tribute to the place that has brought you such joy over the years??? Or do you always take for granted that you and WDW will always be here???

Well, I've told my husband for years that when it's my time to go, I want to be cremated(sp?) and my ashes spread in the one of the rose gardens at WDW so that for all the years to come my family can spend vacation with me in the happiest place on earth! :)
 I just posted a similar remark on the "Too old for Disney?" thread! Accept for me it's the Seven Seas Lagoon since it is usually the last look at MK on the last minute of the last ride of each annual trip...... I would love to know that I'm set to be a part of the magic forever....:sohappy:

I would just do what I usually do. Finish in the Magic Kingdom, watch Wishes, and leave as the CM's wave goodbye with the "see ya real soon" signs (Hopefully, I'd be seeing Walt soon).

As am I....

You say it's not silly. I say it is. :veryconfu

I also found it strange, morbid, and inappropriate and I said so. (Though I really didn't have to because the original poster knew in advance that it sounded morbid and may be offensive to some people.)

Leave the poster alone? Ummm...whatever. I don't recall bothering anyone.

But thanks for the advice!

Now would be a good time to stop attacking ME and get back on topic.

I don't see any reason why someone would find the question offensive. I mean, come on! I like Disney just as much as the next guy, but ultimately, it is just a vacation destination. Some of you seem to act like it is your god, which is kind of scary. When I see people flip out just because of the question that the original poster asked, that indicates to me that such people have elevated WDW into an object of worship or something, and that isn't cool.

who is the crazy nut-job? never, ever come to Disney again? perposterous!

I would get the prime viewing location for Wishes fireworks, bring a lucky rabbits foot and other good luck charms, and then make a wish that I can come back next year... I do beleive in fairies, I do... I DO!!!

I always treat every trip as if it is my last. I never know if we will be fortunate enough to return to WDW. So on the last day of our trip we finish in the Magic Kingdom. I turn around at the end of Main Street for one last look at the castle, say goodbye to DisneyWorld and pray that I will be lucky enough to return again. Then in the monorail or on the ferry I mentally go over all the special times from this trip just to cement them in my memory!

Thanks TAC! I'll pass the site on to my kids! Hopefully, since I'm only 40, it will be a while:lol: I better start my "Disney Demise" fund now!

I told my wife specifically that she has special instructions after I die.
She is to have vials of ashes to distribute in deifferent areas of WDW.
Some of the locations include:
Seven Seas Lagoon
Along the tracks in Main St Station
The hub (doesn't work too well now that that flowers and shrubs are gone)
Pirates of the Caribbean
World Showcase Lagoon
In the sand outside the Poly
In the flowers outside the TTC

I know she won't do it though...

I'd watch American Adventure one last time, then watch IllumiNations for the final time. With any luck, that'll be followed by a live performance of Where the Streets Have No Name.

I apologize if this seems morbid, but here's the premise: It's near the end of your WDW visit, and you know that it will be the last visit to WDW in your life.

Where would you want to spend your last moments before leaving? Where in WDW would you want to say your final goodbye?

a DVC point of view:

I think a thanks at the statue of Walt and Mickey is a great idea. Turning to leave i am in the presance of The Lord. He smiles, extends a hand, and says "Welcome Home"

I love it too, don't get me wrong. I can't wait to go again and I could go every year if money and time allows. But let's keep it all in perspective shall we? Either you'll die or WDW will cease to exist, but whichever comes first, y'aint gonna have it forever. Elevating it to an object of idolotry isn't good.

I know..I probably need some therapy....:p

Well, Disney has barbershops, wedding services and, now I hear, funeral services. Surely they have some on property shrinks I would think.:p
