Now I'm even more excited we booked WL for November - I've never even seen the inside in person and I cannot wait to have a totally new Disney experience!

Yacht Club!

I know you didn't like it, Kidd, but it was awesome for us. I wish you could've come with us because we're about as far from "stuffy" as anyone I know. :D The location, the clean, fresh decor, understated yet classy theming, gorgeous water view, Stormalong Bay...it all knocked our socks off. Definitely our overall favorite over the Contemporary, AKL, Poly, & WL.

Slight nod to the Poly over the Contemporary. With an MK view the Contemporary easily has the best view on property, but for theme and atmosphere give me the Poly.

We love the polynesian for the ambience. We love the tropical, laid back atmosphere. There is something magical about laying in a hammock under a palm tree, while listening to the train whistle from the magic kingdom blowing in the back ground. Then at nights, the tiki torches light the walking paths and polynesian music softly plays. Oh yea, thats tough to beat.

I still think the Polynesian has the best combination of things (views, amenities, transportation) and even Disney often sees the Polynesian as their unofficial flag ship resort. They often test things at the Polynesian before other deluxe resorts get them.

I have visited the GF many times and I can really do without ever staying there.

I like the Contemporary but I like the tropical feel over the modern feel and the Polynesian still has better transportation and dining options as far as I am concerned.

The Wilderness Lodge is great but not on the monorail and rooms are too small.

AKL would rank up there with the Polynesian if the rooms were larger and it was not so isolated. I still love staying there but the location and no close access to any other resorts makes it a second to the Polynesian for me.

I like the Boardwalk/ Epcot area but not as much as being on the monorail. Out of those resorts I like the Yacht Club the best and the Boardwalk the least. Have not tried the Beach Club but have seen it and the rooms and I would pick it over the Boardwalk anytime.

I don't see that. They test things at all resorts. I love the Polynesian, but there's no question - The Grand Floridian is Disney's Flagship resort.

Agreed, putting aside my passion for the GF. It says it on every website, and even the cast members admit there is a different level of service that is required to work at the GF.

Voted for AKL. Love it.

But, we stayed at the Yacht Club last trip, and I have to say I was surprised at just how amazing it is to be able to walk to my favorite park (Epcot).

Just telling you what I am told from managment and CMs at both resorts. Officially the GF is called the flagship resort.

I could go through the huge list of things they tried at the Polynesian before every resort but I really don't have time to list them but things as big as concierge lounge and things as small as the touch screen ordering system in Captain Cook's. Over the years even back to the opening of WDW the Polynesian was the test bed for so many things.
