What do you like better? The old Space Mountain, or Space Mountain after it's 2009 refurbishment? Post your opinion below! I will count votes on 5/10/11 and give you the results!

P.S. I, myself prefer the old SM!:sohappy:

I think I still prefer the old version. I like what they did with the queue games and I like the music (even though it's too loud) but I really liked the star field above the loading area.

Yeah...I'll go with the old version.

I did not feel a difference in the ride itself... the new music took me a little bit to get use to. I still get off the ride with a big smile :sohappy:

It's a hard question to answer...

I'm gonna say the new one b/c of the sound effects(though they were added late last year) and the games. It's one of Disney's first steps in creating the NextGen interactive queue. The chocolate chip cookies are memorable, but it kinda looked too cheesy and dated.

But I still love the old SM.. My vote is for the new SM though...

I like the new one better. The loading area flows much better, and the music and sound effects add a little something to the ride.

Really tough call. I like both for a different reasons, though I must admit I'm still getting used to the new changes. For one, I miss being able to look down from the TTA and seeing the glow and the dark strips on the rocket. It was easier to gauge how long the line really was before the refurb than it is now. And it also seems to take much longer to get to the rocket once you give the CM your fastpass than it did before the refurb. But I like the music and it being extra dark, but I'm leaning more toward the old.

TBH, I'm 50/50 either way. I like that the coaster is darker with the new load area, but I miss the cookies too. I like the idea of the new load area, but I miss the star field in the old one. Too bad they couldn't have a false ceiling with the star field- I think that would be the best of both. I hate the games, but I can understand why they put them in there. I tend to FP it unless it's a walk-on, so I'm very happy they retained the old "windows" in all their vintage glory. I haven't experienced the new sound effects yet, but I will in 21 days!

No questions at all... Look @ my User Name! "Shuttle this is Flight Safety, keep your hands on the handrail or inside the vehicle and remain seated while in motion. You are cleared for launch"! (You can still hear this very faintly over the loud sound of the ratcheting lift hill at the beginning of the ascent. For whatever reason, they still play the old audio in this area.)

OLD SM RULES! :sohappy:

Games: I don't care for the games.

Queue: I don't mind that they enclosed the queue, but they probably shouldn't have made it so tall, and made the top glass so you could see the stars. You can't see ANYTHING from the TTA anymore, which makes it kind of pointless to go through Space Mountain. The re-direct through the chicken exit is totally stupid.

Music: I like it, nice addition.

Post show: The TVs in each scene aren't needed. The green background is kinda ugly, but the effect is ok.

New SM definitely. The music is nice, but I wouldn't miss it too much if it were gone. The best thing to come out of the refurb is the enclosed queue. Pre-refurb, there was so much light in the ride that I eventually started riding always looking up at the ceiling so that I couldn't see where we were going. Post-refurb, I sat in the front looking straight ahead and I couldn't see what was going on. Yes, I did like looking at the glow-in-the-dark rockets zipping around while I was standing in the old queue, but it had a negative effect on the ride
