No offense but I had a friend who took her mom when she was dying of lung cancer and now my friend, dvc owner and lover of all things Disney cannot even bring herself to go back. Time heals all wounds but her Mom loved WDW too and they shared many times there, the last time was very painful. The end was already scripted, no chance to change things, she knew she (and her family) was dying when they all went. She passed away a mere three weeks when after that trip. So, this thread, while meant to make people think, has a very personal ring to many people. Yes, I love WDW but if I was dying I would not go back. People mean more than things and WDW is a thing.

Well, no offense, but this is not directed at your friends mother, or anyone else who might have a painful memory of WDW.

Good lord, this was just a simple question. I know with being as big of a Disney freak as I am, I would go back to WDW if I only had days to live. It brings me joy. And I would want some joy.

And for the love of god, its just a question. Its not meant to offend people. Alot of people on here are WAY too sensitive, and take things WAY too seriously.

THANK YOU! Its about time somebody actually played along.

You actually had me tearing up at the end LOL

YAY!!! :) My writing is effective! That's why I blog I try to make it so it's interesting and people actually feel what I'm saying (as for my spelling, its the reason why I never became a writer)! Thanks for appreciating it and I get what your asking it's just some people don't get it.......(case and point to come).....

I'm sorry SMK, but you just dont get it (don't feel bad, a lot of other people don't either), now before I get flamed (b/c I know I will because a lot of people are close minded) TRY to open it up a smiggit and comprehend what I say (notice I didn't say read).

What AREM is TRYING to do, is get people to think beyond. What would you do if you knew it was your last trip to Disney, because in the end, we will all face that one day, whether we know when we are going to die or not (but the bottomline is no one gets out of this [life] alive). But it would be a priviledge to know so that we could have the least (and hopefully no) regrets. That's it that's the question, this isn't 'what are you going to do on your last day before you die', 'would you go to disney or do other stuff' or 'think about someone who died right after they went to disney...' NO none of the above. This isn't a death forum (how depressing is that?), this is a Disney forum or more specifically a life forum, what would you do with your final day in Disney, a full day, to live the rest of your life with no regrets.

Yes maybe the title is misleading, but it was ment for people to shockingly come in, read the post, go 'ohhh I never thought about that before' and describe there "Last trip, the good, the bad, and the sad" Truth be told most of us won't die for a long long time, and so many our favorite ride isn't even on the drawing board, or our fav park now is going to be our least favorite later on down the road (like I dont like epcot, but in the future who knows). It's just ment as a fun conversation where we can not only express how we feel, but enjoy other's fantasy's about the future aswell.

So just put away your questions about death and dying, and let's just talk about our imagenary trips to disney......

....just my two pennies....

Well, if the parks were closing tomorrow for good............ we'd spend the day in Epcot. We'd ride Test Track and Spaceship Earth as many times as possible, have lunch at the Liberty Inn, milkshakes at the Fountainview Cafe, and later fish and chips at Yorkshire County fish house and get a pretzel from somewhere. Walk around World Showcase, stop into Japan so I could get two more pearls, catch 2 or 3 shows of Off Kilter and sit on a bench and enjoy the moment. We'd ride Energy, Lands and Imagination a time or two and buy tees and gifts for family and friends. Of course IF the parks were closing tomorrow, it would be so crowded and full of people we'd probably never even get near a ride and the fast pass machines would be empty by l0:00am!!!

That's why I went with the death scenario, because going to your last day in Disney on a monday in febuary is different then last day period, forget fast passes gone by 10am, you would be lucky if the park reached level 4 capacity by then! I'm thinkin the lines outside the park would be sooooo long, people from the night before would just stop outside the magic kingdom and start a line for the next day, yeah it would be a disaster....

LOL, maybe they should do that, threaten 2 close the doors, n then after that day say oh well we made enough to open up one more day, n then one more n one more n one more, n see how long it takes for america to catch on lol

Is Disney Tokyo really that good? I basically look at WDW's 4 parks as superrior to any other places 2 parks, yeah there might be more stuff 2 V 2, but 4 V 2 gives WDW the edge.

That's so hard because I have favorite attractions that I absolutely love at all four parks, but I know that realistically I couldn't do all of them.

I would start the day at Epcot for two of my favorite rides, Mission: Space (intense version, of course!) and Soarin. And I would have to eat at the Garden Grill - it was my absolute favorite as a kid and my family eats there every time.

Quick pit stop at MGM (sorry.... Hollywood Studios) for Rock n Roller Coaster. And possibly Great Movie Ride. And Star Tours. lol

Then to my favorite park... Magic Kingdom. Ride Space Mountain for sure. Others, time permitting, would be Buzz, Philharmagic, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, and TTA. And of course, the parade and Wishes! I debated Wishes vs. Fantasmic.... but Wishes won. I get chills every time I watch that show.

So many things to do, so little time....

Ok, in order:

1. Rope Drop at Animal Kingdom
2. Ride Dinosaur
3. Catch the Safari
4. Head over to Epcot and Fast Pass Soarin
5. Jump on Test Track
6. Ride Soarin
7. Over to Magic kingdom and ride Peter Pan
8. Ride Haunted Mansion
9. Grab some ice cream with my wife
10. Ride Pirates
11. Go back to the hotel and get dressed to a T
12. Head over to California Grill and watch Wishes, have a wonderful dinner and a glass of wine in the wine room
13. Spend the rest of the evening on the balcony just remembering the amazing times we have always had at Disney together

To be honest everytime I walk down Main Street for the last time I always think what if this is it and I don't get to come back for whatever reason, so I walk out in tears. I really do love it that much and I am the type person that doesn't take anything in life for granted. I don't just love it because it is a place. I love it because of the wonderful memories that I have with my family there. We always have so much fun.

So to answer the question.. if I had 24 hours to live too many of them would be spent getting there.. but if I knew that didn't have long I would definately go with my family one more time and I would just try to do everything that we always do ending of course as always with Wishes.

Strangely enough I have the same sorta thing happen 2 me, but not at the front of the park. When I leave Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe, I get that little glint when i think about coming there w/o my dad, b/c we went there after like every memory we're ever made in Disney n it just feels like its our place, and I know its morbid and all but I always think what will happen after hes gone (which thankfully wont be for a long time b/c he isn't even 50 yet and hes survived leukemia). I don't think ill ever be able to go near cosmic rays it its like you said its not like its b/c it's the last time you'll ever see this or that, it's just a place that's overflowing with precious memories.

I agree! WDW is superior to any other Disney resort in the world.

Yes. Tokyo is really that good. Disney Sea is... Beyond words. Quality DEFINITELY wins out over quantity to me. Just because there's two more parks doesn't make it instantly better.

And no offense AREM... But WDW is actually the worst Disney resort in the world as far as upkeep and show quality. And that's coming from someone that's been to every single Disney park in the world except for Paris, and I'll be there a month from now.

And that's tough for me to say, because WDW is my "home" resort. :( I wish it was the best.

I've been out to cali a couple times n i have to disagree, I think we do it better then them, although, from a deterioration standpoint, WDW does let things go more often then not (like splash mountain, it ES me off how like NOTHING works how it's supposed to work), but then again I never saw DL ever since I was a kid, just recently. I think you also notice things going down south in your 'home resort' more then you would other ones. B/c you never saw DL when a ride 1st opened up, so you wouldn't know if the quality has really dropped off, nor would you pay as much attention to it because it isn't something your always around.

I just wonder what would happen if disney executives told imageneers that they can do whatever they want for 10 years, they have unlimited funds, im curious what we'd get then.....
