Hey everyone just got back from the world and of course it was an amazing trip as normal.:sohappy: But when i was on Expedtion and sitting at the damaged track area i was tihnk about the Yeti and how much more scarier and amazing it would be to have him there instead of in the cave where you can only view him for about what 2.5 seconds? I dont know if its just me but i think he would have a better viewing spot there. Anyone else think about this?

I believe the idea of having yeti inside and only seeing it for a brief moment is to increase the scare factor. The less you see it the more you want to go back and ride again, besides I think the short view of the yeti adds to the ride alot more. Remember the whole thing is supposed to be a mystery. :lookaroun :lookaroun

Naw. I love himm where he is. At the top with the damaged track you hear his growl and that is enough. When you wiz by him when in the cave it happens so fast that your mind can't tell whether or not the thing is real or not. Is it? Was it? Nothing that big and moves that fast could be fake, could it?

yeah, i know what you're saying. everytime i ride ee, i always want more time to look at the yeti, however, I must agree that if we had time to just stare and him for any lenght of time, the scare factor would decrease.....

It's all the story, and seeing the Yeti is the climax of the everest story. That and the scare factor being higher, and there's the reasons why. Also, being such a complicated AA, he would have to be inside, and not exposed to the elements, such as in the 1st holding area.

Yes. I agree with you.

Seeing the Yeti so early would defeat the purpose...the encounter with him is the climactic moment of the ride. It's all in the buildup!

It does indeed seem a shame to miss all of the details - I thought the same thing at first too .. BUT, Disney has a knack for piling on the details so you can't see them all at once (ex: HM) so it keeps you coming back for more. Not to mention the lower maintenance of keeping it inside, the scare factor of being in the dark, etc. etc.

Do you remember the film "Jaws"? The shark was never seen until three quarters into the movie. I think the fear of the unknown makes the ride more exciting- think back to the first time you went on the ride, unless of course you ingnored the spoiler warnings & knew what was going to happen- the fun of not knowing was great. Yes it would be really neat to get a good look at the Yeti but I think it would ruin the fun.

I agree, I think its the whole mystery and anticipation of seeing him that makes EE work. I think its done just right.

I could see if you meant in the holding area where he rips the track apart...but I still like the "mystery" behind it where he is.

Plus...the Avian Shish-Ka-Bob is enough to see outside in that first holding area

I don't have a problem with the placement of the Yeti so much as the speed at which one passes him. It is so fast that you never really get a good sense of how great and powerful AA that he really is. I would have preferred a slower pass past him and then let the speed pick up as you race from him.

EDIT: 1,000th post!

Hey, hey, hey... the bird's gone, people. Sorry to burst your bird-lovin' bubbles.

And the Yeti is perfect where he is. It's an expedition on Everest, not a Yeti sight seeing tour. If he was angry at us, would he really let us just sit there, chillin' and staring at him, checking him out? NO!! He's eat us. The purpose of the ride is not to stare at the most expensive Audio Animatronic, weighing in at two and half tons, for long periods of time. It's the ride experience: we've got our sherpas and we're trekking up Mount Everest. And it looks like we ticked someone off.....
