I mean theme it! Put some money into this attraction and give it a 2.0 version. It sorely needs it.

I have been saying this for years. I believe what the ride needs most of all is an epic soundtrack. The music on the attraction is lacking, and you need a pulsing beat to bring you in. Everest 2.0.....sign me up!

If one extrapolates the age of this thread and compares it to the DHS hat thread, we are due for the Yeti to be fixed in early 2017...

Which honestly, if it doesn't happen along with the AK expansion, it ain't happening.

They keep claiming they can't fix it until they complete the expansion...So once Avatar-Land Opens they can close Everest for it's rehab...or so they were saying...

And where is the return on investment on this? Everest's lines haven't suffered as an effect of the yeti not working, so why should they pour money into an attraction that is still getting strong ridership? Haunted Mansion is literally the only popular attraction I have continually seen Disney plus for no apparent reason. The status quo seems to be only to truly plus something when the alternative is tearing it down and losing ride capacity.

As far as the line thing goes, I think that has more to do with the fact that A) there aren't all many true rides in the park and B) Everest is the headliner and a true Disney mountain. Fixing the yeti, if it did anything at all, which just draw more people over there. Which, of course, they don't need to do.

OMG he will fix it "Someday" reported 2 years ago...
I wold not count on this anytime in the near future then...
I was wondering if they would just move his head and face without causing more damage... Use the image mapping projectors to simulate the interior of the cave collapsing... Give some motion around it and maybe it would look more thrilling than a strobe light...
just a thought...

Well they can fix Yeti before the Avatar addition. But they will run into capacity problems because Eisner build the park so cheaply that after two decades it is still not up to capacity.

Capacity will not be a problem if they decide to fix the Yeti because the ride will not need to go down.

It has been stated many times that the Yeti can be removed very easily and fixed without the ride going down and he has been removed before. However, there is also a Rumor that the broken Yeti caused a crack in the foundation that has never been confirmed. Yes, the Yeti can be fixed easily but that may not be the only thing that is wrong. The broken Yeti may have caused damage to the foundation thus needing considerable downtime. You can reference the following article which I have no idea if it is true:

I honestly don't know who to believe as to what is really broken but want to believe that if it was an easy fix it would have been fixed already. I need to go snort some more Pixie Dust.

I apologize if this question has been posted over and over (I'm relatively new on here) but is there any sort of active/ongoing communication that Disney has with fan questions? For example a Twitter, FB, blog, website, or fan forum space where fans can ask Disney questions that we all wonder about and debate?

It would certainly end so much of these years long speculations about different questions we all have. For example:

Fan: Fans of the Everest ride, want to know why the Yeti isn't working, why it hasn't been fixed, and what the plan is to fix it?

Disney: The Yeti experienced mechanical failure three years ago forcing us to move it to B mode where it moves very little. It hasn't been fixed b/c there is a crack in the foundation it rests on, so if we fix the Yeti and it moves again, it could make the damage much worse. The plan to fix it, is to wait for Avatarland to be done, and then use our maintenance budget to close the ride for two months, fix the foundation, fix the Yeti and we're back in business.

Fan: That's great news and will end the speculation of what's wrong once and for all. A follow up question we have is since your company makes billions in profit, why can't you have two construction projects going at once?

Disney: Oh because we're incredibly cheap and you all don't punish us for it & continue to visit our parks, buy our merchandise, and ride broken rides, even though we haven't been the Disney you remember us being for at least 15 years now. You're actually lucky we ever fix anything or build one new ride a decade.

Fan: Thanks! So true

Disney: Before I go, look out for more cheap Frozen shows and merchandise taking over more of your beloved Disney rides soon!

Fan: Shut up and take my money!

OKAY! I can take no more! I have purchased a Big Foot costume from a downtown store and have agreed to fly down to Orlando and take one for the team. I'm getting inside of that mountain and will jump out at every train that goes by yelling "BOOGIE BOOGIE BOOGIE BOOGIE!" My gol is to make three little kids cry each day. That should solve the freaking problem!
