Ok I gotta the the date it's opening October 8th I hope that helps. Enjoy yourself!!

Excellent!! I am very Excited!!! Where did you find the information?? I have been looking all over the place??

Edited:
I found some information on wdwinfo.com. It looks like it will be a while before it is open. I guess some people think that it will be open by October 8, but most are hearing it will be later. However the big debate is if they will offer ADR's. I guess it will be owned by a 3rd party.

I called about a week ago to see if I could make an ADR (I will be there end of Sep/beginning of Oct). I asked about the Yak & Yeti and the CM on the phone said "What is that?' After I explained she went and checked with someone. When she came back she said that they are not taking ADR's and that she did not have a firm opening date in the computer

I usually call for the Yak & Yeti and the new Donald's character breakfast at Tusker House twice a week. Several times I've had to explain to the CM's what the Yak & Yeti is. They don't know. As of early this week still no ADR's being taken for either. I'll be calling again tomorrow.

I know what you mean. I have called several times about Yak and Yeti and the people I talked to had no idea what so ever what I was talking about. It almost is a little frustrating.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that got the What's That question when I called to make an ADR at the Yak & Yeti. I was kind of surprised at that reaction. We had been looking forward to trying it out in November but didn't hold out hope so I ended up making an ADR at the Rainforest Cafe.

There is no "official" opening date set for Yak & Yeti at this time. I will be happy to post when reservations are accepted for all upcoming table service locations (Yak & Yeti, Tusker House Restaurant, Tutto Italia, Tokyo Dining, etc) once they are officially announced.

To help wet your appetite, here is some official theming info...

In the summer of 2007, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park Guests will be able to enjoy both a table service and quick service restaurant in Asia.

Schussler Creative and Landry's, best known on property for the Rainforest Cafe, will build an approximately 17.000 square foot two story restaurant. This will be the first Operating Participant to operate a dining facility within the Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Geographically, the restaurant will be located in the mythical town of Anandapur, a small, poor, rural village in the Himalayan foothills, just steps away from the new Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain attraction. The grand old house of one of Anandapur's wealthiest merchants has been converted to this fine indoor dining experience featuring his collection of artifacts including statues, fine tapestries and 900 pound, gold inlaid silk puppets. The outdoor seating area will be set amongst lush greenery, authentic artifacts, fountains and a sacred lingham stone river. This Asian-fusion establishment will offer table-service dining, a full service bar, as well as quick-service food and beer garden options, along with retail offerings from Pan Asia ranging from silk purses, incense and saris to fine teapots. It will seat 250 inside for table service dining and 350 in their quick service courtyard.

Yak and Yeti Opening

I recently just came back from wdw, and I asked a cast member guarding the construction wall, and he said that it is supposed to open Oct. 9th, but may be pushed to late October, maybe on Halloween! H.I.H ( hope it helps )

Hmmm, does yak taste like chicken? Construction continues at Yak & Yeti, which will be a full service, table dining restaurant within Asia at Disney's Animal Kingdom. It will be run by Landry's Restaurants Inc., the folks who bring us the Rainforest Cafes at AK and Downtown Disney.

Set to open this year, the concept is, of course, Asian. Make that Asian Fusion. Theme is a small village called Anandapur in the western Himalayan foothills.

It's a little funny to see modern construction work going on in that setting, but I like that the sign notes that it will be air-conditioned.

That's when I will be there too! I asked a couple of weeks ago and they had no idea.

Yes, thank-you JP for the information. No doubt, when I go in early December, it'll be open. I am, frankly, neither fond of Asian-fusion nor the Rainforest Cafe, but I plan to eat at the Yak and Yeti, just so I can see the restaurant themeing, which sounds terrific.
