Have never been but am going this trip. Already have reservations. Anything to prepare for? We have 9:30 reservations, category 1 seating. Is the food all cold and performers all pooped at that late of a show??

We did it last trip, it was so much fun!! But if it makes sense, although we loved it, we probably wouldn't do it each and every trip.

We've seen it twice in the past 3 visits. 2 weeks ago we went to the Spirit of Aloha Luau. I would see Hoop De Doo several more times before doing the Luau. It's funny one of the performers at the Luau had been a performer at our last Hoop De Doo show.

We went for the first time, two years ago. Two couples, myself and my 20-yr old son. We all had a great time! My son even participated, for those of you who know, where they pass out the washboards to play? And we laughed ourselves silly too.
Now the food, I thought it was SO good. When they slammed down the second bucket of chicken, I had to make myself stop eatting. Yum!

They chose my dad to be the Indian when I was 2 years old. I absolutely freaked out, hysterically crying (we still talk about it today). It took over 20 years for me to get back there, but once I did, I loved it so much we went twice within a few months.

The show is a lot of fun, but going to Fort wilderness just for a dinner-show takes away a lot of valuable time in the parks, and is a bit out of the way. Not to mention last time I went the food wasn't great (in comparison to world showcase restaurants, yak and yeti, and Brown Derby)

It's ok. The show hasn't changed over the years so we have seen it too often. Just go and enjoy the show. They bring all of the food in kettles and you eat as much as you want. Standard barbecue stuff, not too bad. Nothing is cold it is all good (soda, beer and wine included). The cast has done this show since the beginning of time so they are good to go. They are actually on stage for a for less the an hour (total). They come out start the show then leave to give you a chance to eat and then come out later on. You should try the two other shows. The Luau (poly) and Mickey's barbecue (wilderness camp)....

We are doing it this November trip. Can't wait... This is our 1st time. We did the Spirit of Aloha last trip. Enjoyed it, just wish we had better seating. At the HOOP DEE DOO we have catergory 1. YAY!!!!:sohappy:

Did it for the 1st time last December, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We laughed so hard we almost forgot to eat - but the food was so good we managed to stuff ourselves anyway! Best strawberry shortcake I've ever had. My 9 yr. old nephew was chosen to be in the finale - I was afraid he'd be shy and refuse to go up on stage, but he was terrific. People riding the boat with us back to the Contemporary kept telling him what a good job he had done.

I don't know it I'd want to do this show every trip - but I would definitely go it again in a couple years.
