Yacht Club Bus

Okay. So I've read that guests who stay at Yacht club have to share a bus with guests from Beach Club, Boardwalk and Swan and Dolphin when going to MK and DAK. I've never stayed at any of these resorts, but I may in the future. Is this info true?

I usually stay at the Beach club and we share buses with those resorts some of the time. There were a few times the bus to MK was just for us.

The Yacht and Beach Club always share the same bus. Depending on the time of year, they may also share with the Swan and Dolphin (I've seen this before). I've never seen the hotels share with the Boardwalk too, but maybe it's happened in seasons of very low attendance.

All the resorts DO share the same boat service, which also connects to the Studios and Epcot; this may be what your friend is thinking about.

Incidentally, the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian also share bus routes sometimes, and Wilderness Lodge was even added on when I stayed at the Poly a few months ago!

Stayed at the Yacht club a few years back in july. We shared a bus with the beach club but no one else. Not sure about it now though. Maybe it is shared with the rest in lower seasons?

We stayed at the dolphin in 2008 and I would say we shared buses with the other resorts about 50% of the time.

Only ever a problem if you are the last pick up and they are full!

We complained to the concierge once and got taxi vouchers for it!

When we stayed at the Boardwalk a few years ago all 5 hotels shared the same bus and it was terrible. We ended up driving ourselves because there was never any room going to or coming back from the parks (this was in early August, not really a slow time of year).

It seemed to be that during peak operating hours such as park opening and closing that the Swan, Dolphin and Boardwalk shared a bus to and from MK while Yacht and Beach shared their own. Other times all 5 shared the same bus.

Yacht, Beach, Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin share busses for DTD and AK

The resorts are all so close together we would just get off at the first stop and walk to whichever resort we were staying at.

In my opinion bus service is the ONLY negative thing about the Epcot resorts.

When I stayed at the YC in May the only other stop was at the BC.

In August, it was all five resorts (like tigsmom said).

To me it was a little odd, considering how much busier it was in August, but maybe it has to do with the fact these these resorts consider August "value" season and May "regular".

Are occupancy rates typically higher at these resorts in May than August?

Thanks everyone. Ive been doing a lot of research on this. I keep hearing that some people say Yacht club only shares a bus with Beach Club and some people say all five Epcot resorts share the same bus. I would fine with sharing a bus with Beach Club. Does the bus sharing depend on what time of year or what time of day it is?

We've stayed at the YC and the Swan MANY times and enjoy these resorts...the bus service to MK & AK is AWFUL. We love that Epcot resort area, but we also really love the MK so we wind up doing a split stay between the Epcot and MK resorts each trip so we don't have to deal with the horrible bus transportation.

We have been during Thanksgiving and Easter and Spring Break weeks & then just other less peak times of the year....I cannot remember if there is any pattern to the differences during those times....what I do remember is that the bus transpo is horrible. It once took us 1 hr and 45 min to get to the AK from the Swan. (and the YC guests, also, since they were on that same bus:rolleyes:)

I would commonly take the DTD bus to Y&B to get to the International Gateway in Epcot. I made that mistake multiple times and never learned. From DTD, we would of course stop at TL, then stop at Boardwalk, then Swan & Dolphin, then Yacht & Beach... many times my boyfriend and I were the only people on the bus. Even the bus driver apologized saying he had to make the 'stops' (they were more like he would slow down open the door, close it, and speed back up).

We stayed at the Beach Club two years ago in June and never had a major issue with the buses. We did definitely share with Yacht Club, but only occasionally with Boardwalk and never with Swan or Dolphin. So it seems like it is time of year as well as time of day. Most of the AK buses do also make stops at TL or BB but it didn't really bother us. I just figured on 20-25 minutes to get to wherever we were going. The only time we did not take the bus was to go to DTD.

Cool. So let me try and outline this. All are free to correct me.

- Yacht and Beach Club share a bus
- For the most part, Yacht and Beach Club have their own route during busy times like June and July. And share with other resorts at less busy times.

We just arrived back from our trip to Disneyworld this morning. We stayed at the Beach Club Resort. The bus to the Animal Kingdom shares with the Yacht Club which it stops at first, then the Beach Club and then on to the Swan/Dolphin and then it first stops at Blizzard Beach and then on to the Animal Kingdom. Took about 20 minutes to get there with all the stops but at least you get on first. The bus to the Magic Kingdom only shares with the Yacht Club (1st stop) and then the Beach Club took less than 10 minutes to get there. At least that's how it worked for the 2 weeks we spent there.

You have to sometimes. We stayed there over Thanksgiving and we had to share the bus until Saturday after Thanksgiving. Then we got our own bus to MK. I think they gauge it on time of year, time of day, and how busy they are.
