WWYC? Tomorrowland Stitch Dance Party...in a parking lot?

Although I won't name his name (but it rhymes with Slim Bill), everyone's favorite blogger has "announced" that the Galaxy Palace Theater is to be leveled, for an Admin parking lot.

Has said blogger cemented his credibility even further, considering that the following has been officially announced?

"Tomorrowland Party: A high-energy, retro-futuristic music video dance party features Stitch, an interactive dance troupe, and a DJ celebration host who’s inviting all Walt Disney World guests to come party, dance and celebrate."

And no, he's not talking about demolition after 2009. He says Jan 09 at the latest.

Am I right thinking the only place for the dance party is at GPT? Or is this going to be a street party?

The blogmeister does go on to say that the parking lot is supposed to be temporary. That is, if the plans for the mega E-ticket that will swallow the current GPT plot, COP and the former Skyway Station don't fall through. :lookaroun

During some of the hard-ticket events, a dance party was held at a temporary stage area set up in Tomorrowland. I would expect this new show to be on a somewhat more permanent version of the same thing.

But on the other hand -- a new parking lot!?

I don't think there is a need for a parking lot back there. There already is a parking lot but I don't know how many parking spots there. And there is a bus that brings in the Leaders from some special parking lot somewhere.

This is a wonderful example of people offering a totally blind opinion. That parking lot is a very busy lot, and expansion, while I offer no information for or against it, can be easily justified. Additionally the Galaxy stage is horrible, it would be a shame to open up a permanent show on that stage due to its current state of disrepair. If you want to complain, make it about Stitch getting yet another focal point in TL.

I for one, won't miss it. The only thing its good for is the Chistmas show, which kind of stinks that it will be moved over to DS. I really hope that if there is a plan for an E-ticket, I hope they just move the CoP over to Epcot or something. I love that show.

The people behind the scenes need to be putting their efforts into replacing that awful, atrocious, heinous, horrible, lousy attraction known as Stitch's Great Excape.

IMHO, of course.

I could not agree more. That space is one of the main reasons TL has really begun to look so bad. I have no problem with them tearing it down for a temporary parking lot. Maybe the temp parking lot will allow them to build a low rise parking garage nearby and then eventually build the rumored E-Ticket. That would be my guess anyway.

This is a JH rumor that is very believeable.

So, point is, they're going to continue to force Stitch down our throats? Bleh.

Well, nobody is forcing anything down our thoats... we have the choice as to what attractions we view/take part in! But with that being said, I do not like SGE. The thing that bothers me about SGE is the fact that it is clearly not child friendly but Stitch is marketed to children.

I don't know if you've seen the Stitch movies and/or have children but Stitch is a very lovable/likable character. I personally didn't see why Stitch was popular until I saw the movies with my own children. But the one attraction that houses Stitch I wouldn't take my children to! I'm sure Disney could have come up with a better attraction that included Stitch!

I wonder if all the "hate" for Stitch comes from the character itself or the attraction in which he's located!?!

I'm interested to find out what this Stitch party will be like? Maybe now my children will be able to see an attraction/show with Stitch in it!?!

I don't think the Tomorrowland Party is planned for GPT. Here's a quote from the Orlando Sentinel when they spoke to Francois Leroux about it:

The Tomorrowland Party will be in a new area set up between Space Mountain and Carousel of Progress. "There's nothing there now," Leroux says. The continuous theme will be reports from the Tomorrow News Network ("news from the galaxy"). Expect more audience participation, live interaction (think Crush over at Epcot) and sightings of Wall-E, Buzz Lightyear and Stitch.

To me it sounds like it'll probably be located somewhere around the current smoking area between the Skyway building and COP.

It's the SGE attraction that most people really, really don't like.
It's not well done and is either boring to adults or frightening to small children. It's not up to Disney standards.
Tks.

The "hate" for Stitch comes from the fact it is not seen by many as a Disney created character. I believe the creator of Stitch now works for another studio (hopefully forever) as Disney has many creative types who are better and understand the Disney consumer.

My guess is that it will be where the HSM pep rally was held before it was moved over to DHS. That would place it in the open area between the two TTA tracks to the east of Astro Orbiter and to the west of the Skyway bldg.

So we can have more Stitch, and Jim Hill being right?

Naah, he only regurgitates what's been posted on other sites, I forgot.
