Now dont get me wrong,I love WDW in all ways but when someone is going to bash me and my liking of a cartoon that in fun spoofed WDW thats waaayyyy too much

I know that Epcot was built as a memorial to Disneys last dream and in his hopes to change the world...and lets think realistically thats not gonna happen..but this girl strongly believed...better yet,definitively believed this place was going to change the world

she then decided to invite more people in to try and bash me as well.

I tried explaining that not everyone is going to share her POV only to have her go into shock at how someone who knows Epcot so well could only look at it as a "theme park"

anyhow WOW I'm a bit amused right now

First of all, If Disney wasn't such a great thing it wouldn't be mocked or spoofed in any show. I personally can't stand the Simpsons or Family Guy but that is my opinion and taste. It does not bother me that a show spoofs it.

It is funny to me and I did want to add after reading a few threads about EPCOT. (preparing to be flamed) I love the idea that was what Walt wanted with this park and I think what they did with it is great but the fact remains that change can be a good thing and no I do not mean the wand! It looks better without! There is currently a thread about the characters at EPCOT (nothing towards OP of that thread, just stating my opinion) I don't understand how this can be a bad thing though, Walt started with animation and he said "Let us not forget that it was all started with a mouse." That statement to me includes EPCOT as well as any of the parks. Walt did want to change the world and while EPCOT may have not been exactly what he envisioned he did change the world with his works and parks. Where else can you go and see so many different people sharing one dream like you do at WDW. Stop and look at the faces around you at Wishes and then ask yourself if it all doesn't fit everywhere at WDW. To me it does.
Why do we have to be soo serious that a few characters bother us.. isn't it the simplest of pleasures?

Epcot ranks right up there with my favorite places on this planet, but, that being said, that Simpsons episode is hilarious.

Just because you love something doesn't mean you can't find it funny when someone else makes fun of it. Besides, if Epcot weren't successful, fun, and popular, it wouldn't be worth the jokes.

i am obsessed with disney. i also happen to be a long time fan of the simpsons. and i think that episode is really funny. i ALSO think the family guy episode spooffing WDW is funny, too. Sometimes people are a little too obsessed with things and now a days people get offended by everything. If you can't laugh at something like a silly cartoon than ... get a grip!

The Simpsons are great! And the funny thing that is you can tell it was made from some people who actully like Epcot. There's alot of attention to detail, and some very well-done animation of real things. I mean, Captain EO and Honey, I sprayed goo on the audience! all in one park? They knew their stuff.

I don't understand why you couldn't keep the fight on the one thread, and have to start another thread/argument about you're annoyed with the person(s) over the subject matter. You're just making yourself look bad by creating another thread regarding it.

Don't get me wrong...some people on these WDW sites believe that Disney can do no wrong, or hate it when another show pokes fun at them; and I find these people pathetic with lack of a social life. But that's besides the point. It just comes across that you want to rally people up and start another war with the Screeches of the WDW message board.

Well I finally watched it.........I have to say I really do not understand all the hostility. I take the simpsons in the spirit they are intended to be....humorous..............I kind of liked the spoof myself.......I dont know maybe its just me but I dont get your problem with it...
