I believe the idea behind ripping a disposable mask after use is that it clearly indicates it has been ‘used’, and wouldn’t inadvertently be worn again.
Yeah get that - but hasn't all advice prior been to not touch outside of masks ? I get you need to wash or sanitise straight after but interesting they are doing this.

Survey people aren't daft enough right after this whole thing if unsure of a masks cleanliness to be sticking it in their face 🤔

Back in November I had said it was my one and only trip so that's why I went all out. Glad I did it that way, because even if I wanted to go back, I don't think things will get back to normal for a couple of years. Why a couple of years? Because on average these pandemics have lasted a couple of years.

Nothing in the video deterred me from a Disney visit. If it's a choice of a mask and a little extra screening vs. no Disney, I'm taking Disney.

The real key for me will be what attractions are available. Otherwise, I'm more interested in figuring out how to safely do things I enjoy rather than staying at home doing nothing.

That's the point. They haven't figured out how to do it safely yet. The video shows that. If you have ideas please share them. Disney clearly could use them.

In summer it would depend on availability of resort pools. My kid can handle distanced characters, a mask, and other stuff in the video, but not being able to use resort pools in middle of day would likely push us to "no."

Transmission through pools hasnt been shown *but* I can see them shut down for distancing purposes.

Lot of people where sun glasses in the Florida sun to protect their eyes with a mask on the glasses would fog up.

Your eyes and ears don’t cough or sneeze and generally don’t expel respiratory droplets. Remember it’s not about you.
Yes but even if you have a mask on and it does not sit properly, it isn't sealed against your cheeks and nose, those repiratory droplets get out. This isn't talked about, but read up on it if you want to

I've had that happen multiple times, especially when leaving indoor facilities.

Living in Florida with the around 90 degree temperatures we've had lately, I can say that I have zero interest in being outside with a mask on for several hours. It's ok for short trips, but it wouldn't be fun all day. I feel for CM's who will be doing just that.

I get the necessity, but it is still a hard no until it's not a necessity. I would enjoy watching Disney rides on YouTube more from home, in my A/C without a mask on.

To be honest, pools are probably safer than theme park rides. Research pool shock chemicals. Viruses don't stand a chance living in that stuff.

To those individuals happy with wearing a mask in humidity for 8+ hours a day: You realize that people are going to be hydrating while walking around all day. Eating popcorn. Dole whip. Snacks. The masks will be effectively around necks as soon as the park opens. Are you comfortable with that, or will you scream about saving lives while I am hydrating?
Yes, some of us realize that it's a sham and a farce. The mask regulation, as currently presented in that video, is heavy on irritating and short on helpful in protecting park visitors.

I mean, I’m local with an AP and even I’d be hesitant to go. I definitely would not be spending a ton of cash to fly here on vacation and deal with all that. Between the summer heat/humidity and the fact that it all sounds kind of stressful, it’s just not something that sounds all that “magical” to me. Then there’s the masks...no thank you. I’ll sit in my pool with some Jack Daniels while I blare 80’s EPCOT Center tunes through the neighborhood and think about the good old days.

They do not if you know how to put your mask correctly. The quality masks have the nose wire which you can adjust under glasses/sunglasses. BTW, the WDW masks do not seem to have them.

I just don't see these safety measures disappearing til a vaccine or a treatment happens. The masks may not be required but physical distancing probably will as well as limited capacity.

Well as long as there are treatable symptom options that lessen the effects, then a vaccine isn't necessarily needed immediately. The two or three drugs they are using are getting mass produced now, and as long as they are available, safety measures can be culled. They've already said this'll be a seasonal virus from now till eternity, so there's really no stopping us from potentially/inevitably getting it. No reason to keep things shut down for much longer.

I could maybe handle everything except the masks in Florida. Would also want the nighttime and indoor shows as well so I’ll just wait until things are closer to normal again
Masks don’t work in Florida...just my opinion
There's much less of a stigma about wearing masks in public in Asia. Tokyo Disney has sold them for years. People in those countries are probably more used to wearing them when it's hot/humid outside.
Masks are worn in Asia due to the concerns over pollution...not because they’re “extra clean”

I still don’t classify that as “normal” or “fun” behavior.
