Would you skip a Disney trip to go see the Winter Olimpics?

Only you can make the decision, its a very personal one but if I had the opportunity to go to the Olympics I'd absolutely take it. There is a lot of value in seeing the real world instead of the idealized one locked behind the gates of a theme park.

How bout you consider skipping the Olympics and going for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil... Now that I might give up a Disney trip for... Warm weather, only events where you can actually watch the entire game and not just bits and pieces... and tropical beaches.... Oh, and if you like to party they will put any Olympic party to shame.

This! 100% this! It's not that I don't like the real world or that I don't think there's value in travel or sports events... I just don't think this is the one to miss Disney for.

Me. I don't want to go to Russia. I'd rather be on jury duty. Rather clean my toilets. In fact, barring anything involving actual pain, I can't think of anything I'd rather do less than fly for hours only to land in Russia and watch sporting events in the cold.

But I wouldn't suggest other people not go, if that's their thing!

There are a few places I'd like to see that i haven't been, but I never want to be on a plane that long.

And even if I could teleport, I have no interest in visiting Russia, especially if I had to be cold to do it. Don't like cold. Don't like sporting events. Don't like Russia.

Not everything is for everyone, KWIM?

If I could teleport, okay. I'd go see the UK. Not Russia...but some places. Otherwise, no. I don't want to travel that far.

When I was younger I would have. And I did go many places. But not now.

LOL, still, you made my point. People like to travel. I never mentioned specific places.

Honestly though, I'm not a bit surprised at the responses here. There are a lot of people here who won't even get on a plane and make the trek to California for Disneyland, let alone another country. People are stuck in bubbles. Heaven forbid different experiences. Oh well, like you said, different strokes.

If your point is that I like to travel, I'm afraid it is incorrect. I don't. Only do it when I must. But I did a lot of that when I was younger.

Some people like to travel, some don't. I don't think either group is better or worse.

Again, I didn't say people like to travel, I said people WANT to travel. Some people don't like doing and seeing the same thing over and over again.

It really is getting silly, since you refuse to correctly read what I'm posting. When were my posts ever directed towards you? My posts read "people", not "luv". I didn't say luv wants to travel. I never even mentioned going to Russia for the Olympics, but I never said luv wants to travel to Russia to see the Olympics. I never said luv likes to travel. I always said people, which is broad. My posts were never directed towards you. I understand PEOPLE have different likes and I understand LUV doesn't want or like to travel. I understood you from the beginning. You keep taking my posts personally, for some reason.
